MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MAY 18, 1977
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Gottfried at 7 45 P.M. Also
present were committee members Schaumberg and Dumke.
The following 'persons appeared to apply for Operators License Edna
Geisgh and Donald Kohlhagen.
Mr. Paul Bukovic appeared regarding his application for a Class "B"
Fermented Malt Beverage and Intoxicating Liquor License and a trap and
rifle range license.
Mr. Joseph Geisegh appeared to apply for a Class "B" Fermented Malt
Beverage and Intoxicating Liquor License.
Ald. Schaumberg moved, seconded by Ald. Dumke, to recommend approval
of Operators Licenses for Edna Geisegh and Donald Kohlhagen. Motion
carried.
Mr. Charles Damaske appeared at the meeting and presented the financial
report of the Bicentennial Committee. He indicated that to complete
the building which will house the machinery, approximately $3,000.00
once again regarding the type of building being proposed and noted that
additional funds will be needed. The committee questioned Mr. Damaske
matter was deferred until a future meeting in order that building and
no monies had been budgeted in 1977 for that project. Action on this
site plans can be reviewed.
Ald. Dumke moved to recommend Council approval of a resolution requiring
payment of delinquent withholding taxes and State Sales Tax Prior to
Issuance of Liquor Licenses. Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, motion carried.
The committee discussed the possibility of eliminating medical examin-
ations for bartenders in the city and recommended to the Rules, Laws &
Ordinance Committee that the matter be reviewed.
Ald,'Schahber-g moved to recommend Council approval of a resolution which
would place Mrs. Jean Marenda at Step I1 of the salary range effective
May 30, 1977. The committee noted that Mrs. Marenda has worked for the
city for over a year and will be replacing Mrs. Barbara Sands who is
resigning.
The committee reviewed a claim from Mr. Gary R. Dake in the amount of
$33.00 expended by him to repair electrical line cut by the Public Works
Department while installing a street sign. Same was referred to the
Public Works Committee.
Aid. Schaumberg moved to recommend Council adoption of a resolution
transferring $2,000.00 from Account #255, Industrial Park, to a newly
created Account #602.046, Industrial Park Promotion. Seconded by Aid.
Dumke, motion carried.
Building ~nspector Lee appeared and advised the committee that he has been
unable to find an employee under the CETA Program who would meeting the
qualifications he needed (typing and shorthand, etc.). Discussion was
held as to the best method of filling the position as well as the request
typist. Ald. Dumke moved to recommend to the Common Council the adoption
from the Parks and Recreation Department for a parttime receptionist-
of a resolution which would abolish the parttime position Of Inspection -
Clerk. Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, motion carried. Aid. Dumke moved
would create an additional position of Receptionist - Typist 11 who
to recommend to the Common Council the adoption of a resolution which
would work one-half day in the Building Inspection Department and one-
half day in the Parks and Recreation Office. Seconded by Aid. Schaumberg,
motion carried.

0 The committee reviewed a communication from City Attorney Buckley
which established a final payout to several contractors who had
done work in the city's industrial park from funds which are presently
held by the city for the Gyuro contract
The committee reviewed a grievance Prom the Muskego Professional
Policeman's Association regarding the placement of patrolmen on shifts
as well as Chief Kraus's denial of the grievance. Representatives Of
the next Finance Committee meeting to present the grievance in person.
The committee reviewed the only bid received for the official newspaper
for the city which was submitted by the Muskego Sun as follows:

Ald. Dumke moved to recommend Council. approval of the above bid.
Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, motion carried.
Ald. Schaumberg moved to recommend Council approval of the execution
of an agreement between Metro Sanitation and the Parks 8 Recreation
Department for the installation of two portable sanitation units at
the Mill Valley Complex at a cost of SGO.00 per month per unit
carried.
from June 1, 1977, to August 31, 1977. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion
Ald. Dumke moved, seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, to recommend Council
approval of all Class "B", Class "A" and Wholesale Intoxicating Liquor
and Fermented Malt Beverage Licenses as per the attached list. Motj.on
carried.
Ald. Dumke moved to once again recommend Council approval of the
execution of a lease agreement between Richard Schaumberg.and the
Parks and Recreation Board for park lands for the sum of $180.00
commencing June lst, 1977 and ending May 31, 1977. Seconded by Ald.
Schaumberg, motion carried.
Ald. Schaumberg moved to adjourn, seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion
carried. The meeting adjourned at 8:55 P.M.
