FCM19770425FINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEG0 MINUTES OF MEETING HELD APRIL 25, 1977 The meeting was called to order at 8 00 P.hl. by Chairman Ford. Also present was Alderman Schaumberg The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and placed on file. Mr. Patrick Wall appeared to apply for an Operator's License. Mr. Kenneth Winter appeared to apply for an Operator's License. Mr. Howard Schultz and Mr. Paul Bukovic appeared regarding the transfer of a Class "B" Fermented Malt Beverage and Intoxicating Liquor License. Attorney Dave Hass and Mr. Peter Karides appeared to again request a Class "B" Fermented Malt Beverage License for a new Pizza Hut restaurant They also submitted a petition by residents supporting a license for same. The committee advised Mr. Ilass tha.t a legal division of the property in question must be :applied for and that building and site plans must be submitted to the Plan Commission for approval before a recommendation on an additional Class "B" Beer License would be made. Ald. Ford moved to grant the request of Police Chief Kraus to have Officer Gifford attend a three-day Seminar on Juvenile Problems at Glendale on May 10, 11 and 12, 1977. Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, motion carried. Ald. Schaumberg moved to grant the Muskego Volunteer Fire Company first opportunity to acquire the Po1.ice Department's stand-by generator which will not be used in the new police building. Seconded by Ald. Ford, motion carried. The committee acknowledged receipt of Aids in the amount of $1,954.26 due to the M & E exemption, $89,171.45 State Highway Aids and $57,736.00 allocated under the Anti-recession Fiscal Assistant Program of the Public Works Employment Act of 1976. Ald. Schaumberg moved to approve Uuilding Inspection Department expenses for attendance at the League of Municipalities Training Seminar in the amount of $149.26. Seconded by Ald Ford, motion carried. Ald. Ford moved to approve the reques't from Jean Marenda for a leave of absence without pay from .June 13 to July 1, 1977. The request had previously been approved by her department head, Gerald P. Lee. Seconded by Ald. Ford, motion carried Ald. Schaumberg moved to defer action on the Police Department's request to hire one patrol officer under the CETA Program. Seconded by Ald. Ford, motion carried. Ald. Schaumberg moved to recommend that the Common Council reject the offer of New Berlin Homes in the amount of $1,000.00 for a city-owned parcel of land on Janesville Road Seconded by Ald. Ford, motion Francis Lufkin expressing his interest in acquiring the aforementioned carried The committee also acknowledged receipt of a note from Mr. property. Correspondence was received from Temstcrs Union Local #695 stating three Muskego Police officers. their intent to withdra.w their grievance concerning holiday pay for Ald. Ford moved to recommend that the Common Council approve Operators License for James Patrick Wall and to Kenneth Richard Winter. Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, motion carried. Correspondence was reviewed and pl.aced on file. Ald. Ford moved to adjourn, seconded by A1.d. Schaumberg, motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 9 50 P.hl. ~.
