FCM197703170 FINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MARCH 17, 1977 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Gottfried at 7 45 P.M. Also present were Aldermen Colburn and Schaumberg, Police Chief Kraus, and Lt. Scholz. *, The following persons applied for Operator's License. Suzanne O'Connor Theodore Brown Ald. Schaumberg moved to recommend approval of the above listed applicants. Seconded by Ald. Colburn, motion carried. Ald. Colburn moved to recommend approval of an application for a dump refuse hauling permit for Walter Clemens. Seconded by Ald Schaumberg, motion carried. Ald. Schaumberg moved to recommend approval of a "Gathering" Permit for the Muskego Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary for May 7, 1977. Seconded by Ald.Colburg,motion carried. The committee acknowledge receipt of Highway Aids in the amount of $25,139.40. Police Officers Koch and Manske appeared at the meeting to discuss the possibility of them being able to participate in the examinations for sergeant by the Police and Fire Commission. It was the committee's decision to interpret the resolution to include both Officers Koch and Manske thus giving them the right to take the examination. Schaumberg, motion carried. Chief Kraus requested that the committee permit him to pay $50.00 per day consultant fees to each of the three individuals involved in the oral examination for sergeants. Ald. Schaumberg moved to approve the request, seconded by Ald. Colburn, motion carried. Chief Kraus advised the committee that State funding is now available to help offset the cost of purchasing camera and equipment needed by the police department. He indicated that the grant is on a 60-40 basis which would thus cost the city $500.00. The committee noted that at the time of the approval of the capital budget the camera 0 be acquired for the new police complex. They also noted that any equipment was removed'in order that an adequate filing system could additional expenditures for the Police Department's capital budget would require a transfer from the contingency fund to the departmental budget. It was determined that the request should go to the Common Council without recommendation. The committee reviewed the request from the Director of Parks and Recreation-for permission-to purchase an infi-el-d pro tractor that had been used for demonstration purposes. The cost would be $3,191.75. The committee noted that this amount was lower than that estimated when the purchase was originally approved by the Council. Ald. Colburn moved to approve the request.
