FCM19770106FINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD THURSDAY, JANUARY 6, 19 The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Chairman Gottfried. Also present were Aldermen Schaumberg and Colburn. The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and placed on file. Application for "Gathering" License from the Muskego Icetronauts for Schaumberg moved to recommend approval of same, seconded by Ald. Colburn. Motion carried. One application for employment was received and placed on file. Mayor Gottfried reviewed with the committee the need for an amendment to Resolution #226-76, entitled, Establishing Salaries for Certain City of Muskego Employees for 1977, in order that an error made on the salary of the Park Foreman could be corrected. Ald. Colburn moved to recommend to the Common Council a resolution amending the salary of the Park Foreman as follows: From $836.00/mo (Start ), $878.00 (6 mos.) and $962.00 (18 mos.) to $874.00/mo (Start), $918.00 (6 mos.) and $1,005.00 (18 rnos.). Motion seconded by Ald. Schaumbera. motion (e February 5th and 6th on the Milton Muehl Farm was reviewed. Ald. 0 carried. .. Schaumberg moved to recommend acceptance of the low bid of E. J. alentine in the amount of $15,000.00, net cost. Seconded by Ald. Colburn, eotion carried. 'lhe committee approved the attendance of the Park and Recreation Director and the Park Foreman at a Turf Conference and Equipment Show in Elm Grove at an expenditure not to exceed $16.00 total for the two day event. ' The committee authorized payment of -$6.00 for Mr. Fred Wienke to cover the cost of entering a team in the Jr. Rifle Championships event to be held *March 11th to 20th at the Sentinel Sports Show. - .. Finance Committee Page 2. January 6, 1977 Mayor Gottfried reviewed with the committee the present statement of values used in determining the cost of the city's insurance program. He explained that the values have not been updated for at least three years and that since the present insurance program is predicated on a 90% co-insurance requirement the updating of the values is a necessity in order that the city can be fully covered. Mayor Gottfried explained 1) this could mean substantial increases in our fire insurance premiums. Mr. David Haas, representing a client interested in operating a pizza hut in the city, appeared to discuss with the committee his request to increase the number of Class "B" Fermented Malt Beverage Licenses presently authorized by one (1) in order that the establishment could serve beer. The committee advised Mr, Haas that they would not recommend the amendment, however, a resolution would be submitted to the Common Council without recommendation in order that the issue could be resolved. Ald. Schaumberg moved to adjourn, seconded- by Ald. Colburn, motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 8:15 P.M. Respectfully submitted, Paul J. Schaumberg, Sec'y. Finance Committee S. Mayor Gottfried informally discussed with the aldermen present the request of Rock Contractors to extend the completion time of the Freedom Acres Sewer Project an additional two months. Mayor Gottfried advised the members that John Mielke has recommended approval of the request because of the condition of the sub-soil is such that the roads in the subdivision could be totally obliterated if the project were continued in winter. The alder- men present agreed to support the recommendation which will be sent to the Council on Tuesday night.
