FCM19751119FINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEG0 .MINUTES OF MEETING HELD NOVEMBER 19, 1975 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Gottfried at 7:30 P.M. Also present were Aldermen Schaumberg, Foldy and Dumke. The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and placed on file. A discussion was held relative to the difference in fees for amusement @devices. It was noted that under our present ordinance bowling alleys pay a permit fee of $10.00 per alley and a permit for premises on which trap shooting takes place is a total of $10.00, Ald. Schaumberg moved to recommend to the Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee an amendment to the city's Municipal Code which would provide a $10.00 permit fee for each trap house used on the premise where trapshooting occurs. Seconded by Ald. Foldy, motion carried. A discussion was held on the costs of the city's insurance program. It was noted that as a result of the bidding in 1974, the insurance program was divided between Sentry Insurance Company and Employers of Wausau. Mayor Gottfried advised the committee that the agent for Sentry Insurance Company informed him that the city's liability insurance could rise sub- stantially since it is normally required that Workman's Compensation be written along with the liability insurance. It was the decision of .the committee to rebid the city's insurance program for 1976. The committee reviewed the request of Deputy Inspector Dan Nowak for a 1% day leave of absence without pay. The committee noted that the department head had recommended said request. Ald. Dumke moved for approval, seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, motion carrled. City Attorney's voucher for his services through October was reviewed and approva1.was recommended. The committee considered the request of the Park and Recreation Depart- ment that two new positions be created in order that the restructuring of the department could occur. Ald. Schaumberg moved to recommend to the Cmon Council the creation of the posTtion of Park and Recreation Director at a salary of $1106.00 (Start), $1171.00 (6 mos.) and $1236.00 (18 mos.) and further that the position of Park Maintenance Foreman be created at a salary of $5.00 per hr. (Start), $5.25 (6 mos.) and $5.7$ (18 mos.). Both positions and salaries to comence January 1, 1976, aqd also that the position of Park Superintendent be abolished. Seconded by Ald.
