FCM19750806I FINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEG0 ~0 MINUTES OF MEETING HELD AUGUST 6, 1975 ~ The meeting was called to order by Chairman Gottfried at 7:45 P.M. Also present were Aldermen Foldy, Dumke and Knudsen. The following persons appeared to apply for Operator's Licenses: e Richard Stolz RR# 2 Box 324-A Hwy G Hales Corners, WI Lorraine Anderson 5351 Tuckaway La., Greenfield, WI Floyd Kuehnau 652 76th St., Franksville, WI Terry Burton 6121 S. 121st St., Hales Corners, WT Michael Thiele S83 W20342 Janesville Rd., Muskego Gordon Hagenkord 6260 S . Lake Dr. , Milwaukee, WI Mr. Michael Fitzgerald, Muskego Dr., representing the Little Muskego Lake Association, appeared to apply for a "Gathering" License for August 16, 1975, for Idle Isle Park. Ald. Foldy moved to recommend approval of said license, seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. Ald. Dumke moved to recomnend approval of Operator's Licenses for Richard Stolz -=orraine Anderson, Floyd Kuehnau, Terry Burton, Michael Thiele and Gordon I Hagenkord. Seconded by Ald. Foldy, motion carried. )Ald. Foldy moved to recommend approval of Dump Refuse Hauling Permit for Thomas Disposal (two trucks). Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. Ald. Dumke moved to recmend approval of "Gathering" License for V.F.W. Post /I8171 for August 22, 23 and 24, 1975 (Country Fair Days) on the south- east comer of Janesville Rd. and Lannon Drive and for the Muskego Pro- fessional Policeman's Association for August 31, 1975, for Kurth Park (Proceeds to go to muscular dystrophy funds). Seconded by Ald. Foldy, motion carried. Ald. Dumke moved to recommend approval of a "Gathering" License for Muskego Softball Tournament,for August 16 and 17, 1975, Kurth Park, subject to the submission of proper application. Seconded by Ald. Foldy, motion carried. Mr. William F. Klug, representing American National Insurance Company, appeared at the meeting to discuss with the committee a deferred com- pensation plan for city employees. He explained that the city would be required to authorize representatives of their company to contact each employee to determine whether or not they would be interested in such a plan, the city would make the necessary deductions from the payroll. He explained the program is voluntary, there is no policy fee, no service charge, no maximum or minimum and that the guaranteed interest is 3% and they are presently paying 7%. The conunittee will discuss the proposal at a future meeting. Ald. Foldy moved to recmend Council approval of a resolution authorizing the purchase of four voting machines as provided for in the 1975 capital budget. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion ca?ried., a e .. Ald. Dumke moved to waive the filing fee for the MPPA muscu1,ar dystrophy baseball game on August 31, 1975. Seconded by Ald. Foldy, motion carried. ." ... . . Finance Commit'tee Ald. Dumke moved to recommend approval of payment in the .amount of $40,045.00 to Ellies Construction Co. for rough grading work in the industrial park. Seconded by Ald. Foldy, motion carried. Mayor Gottfried reported that he had established a price of $5,000.00 for Lot 11, Block 16, Fountainwood and $5,500.00 for Lot 12 Block 15 and $6,000.00 for Lot 18 Block 26, Fountainwood S bdivision. He explained that soil borings indicated the cost for additio A ootings because of sub- soil could be as much as $5,000.00. A communication received from the State indicated that the city is in receipt of $231,873.04 shared tax fund preliminary distribution. The city also received $3,524.25 for interest earnings due the city because of delay in final distribution of the 1973 shared taxes. A conununication was received from the State of Wisconsin Department of Administration advising the city that the preliminary 1975 population estimate which will be used in calculating shared taxes has been set at 0 13,408*, Police Chief Kraus presented a request that the Finance Committee approve expenditures in theamount of $184.38 for repair and replacement of parts for WaterPatro&nan Walter Singsheim's boat. He explained the boat was damaged, towed out in Little Muskego Lake and sunk which, in his opinion, was an act of retribution because of Mr. Singsheim's position as WaterTatrolman. The request was received and placed on file. Chief Kraus asked the Finance Comittee to recommend to the Cmon Council an expenditure of $500.00 for the purpose of updating the electrical service toLhe Muskego Police Department. He explained that the service for the demands on it and it has been blowing fuses and circuit breakers as well as the main power fuses. The cornittee took the request under advisement.
