FCM19741218FINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEG0 MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON DECEMBER 18, 1974 The meeting was called to order at 7:35 P.M. by Chairman Gottfried. Also present were Aldermen Dumke and Foldy. Ald. Wallner, Lt. Scholz and Ald. Colburn also appeared at the meeting. The following persons appeared to apply for Operators Licenses: James Mather W188 S6943 Gold Dr., Muskego, WI Joanne Fehrmann Rt. #2 Box 635B, Waterford, WI Melinda Lehnhoff 8226 Soi Oklahoma Ave., Milwaukee, WI Lynn Smith S68 W18134 Island Drive, Muskego, WI Ald. Dumke moved to recommend approval of Operator's Licenses for James Mather, Joanne Fehrmann, Melinda Lehnhoff and Lynn Smith. Seconded by Ald. Foldy, motion carried. The committee reviewed the bids for 1975 model squad cars with Lt. Scholz. The committee recommended the bid from E. J. Salentine as most acceptable and they urged Lt. Scholz to present clearer bids for squad cars in the future. Mr. Dick Arrowood and Mr. Don McCullough appeared at the meeting to review the need to provide a heading system for the Idle Isle building. They explained that the advent of cold weather makes it imperative that the system be installed as quickly as possibly in order to prevent freezing of water lines, etc. They presented the following two proposals: (1) Custom Heating & Air Conditioning $1,250.00 with one-year (2) Waukesha Heating & Air Conditioning $1,269.00 5-year guarantee service warranty. parts and service. The Finance Committee reviewed the two proposals and noted that although the proposal from Waukesha Heating and Air Conditioning was slightly higher it included a 5-year guarantee on parts and service. They also agreed that time was of the essence. The Finance Committee agreed with the decision of the Park and Recreation Board that the Waukesha Heating and Air Conditioning should receive the contract. Mr. George Trepanier, Deputy Civil Defense Di-rector, appeared to recommend the purchase of a 3 kilowatt surplus generator for auxiliary power for general use by the city at a cost of $350.00. The comittee recommended that a study be made to determine the size generator required to run city hall or the sewer lift stations or the treatment plants, etc. in case of a prolonged power failure. The committee recommends the purchase of a used 1974 Pontiac Granville from E. J. Salentine for use as a surveillance vehicle and Police Chief's car at a cost of $3,000.00 plus trade of '71 Buick. The committee also recommended the following transfer of funds from the 1975 budget as follows: $500.00 from Recruitment to Capital Budget $455.00 from Uniforms to Capital Budget " Ald. Foldy moved to recommend approval of payment of general vouchers in the amount of $116,020.06. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. Ald. Dumke moved to recommend acceptance of the low bid of Super Excavators in the amount of $19,202.25 for the installation of sewer in Gemini Ct. in the industrial park.
