FCM19730919FINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEG0 MINUTES OF MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 19, 1973 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Gottfried at 8:05 P.M. Also present were Aldermen Schaumberg, Dumke, Foldy and Knudsen. The following persons appeared to apply for an Operators License: William VanRemmen - 2516A N. Booth St., Milwaukee Doris Krabbenhoft - S99 W20405 Parker Dr., Muskego Niel Massey - S70 W17824 Muskego Dr., Muskego Mr. Thomas Felton and Mr. John Blasius appeared at the meeting to discuss the availability of a Class "A" Fermented Malt Beverage and Intoxicating Liquor License. Ald. Dumke moved, as seconded by Ald. Foldy, to recommend Council approval of a Class "A" License for Thomas Felton and John Blasius subject to the sonsummation of the sale of the property and that their proposed building would be completed by May 1, 1974. Motion carried. Ald. Dumke moved, as seconded by Ald. Foldy, to recommend Council approval of a "Gatherind' License fog Muskego Moose #1057, for Sept. 29 and 30th and for October 6th and 7th, 1973. Motion carried. Ald. Schaumberg moved, as seconded by Ald. Dumke, to recommend Council approval of Operators Licenses for William VanRemmen, Doris Krabbenhoft and Niel Massey. Motion carried. It was the committee's decision to suggest to the Park & Recreation Board that they review the policy of permitting beer to be served in cortain parks in the city. City Attorney Buckley appeared at the meeting to discuss the request of Mr. Charles Hudson that the city waive the $100.00 judgement cost incurred during his assessment appeal. The request was denied by the committee. The committee received a request that Lt. Scholz of the Police Dept. be permitted to attend the FBI Academy in Washington D.C. in early 1974. Ald Foldy moved to recommend Council approval, seconded by Ald. Dumke. Ald. Schaumberg voted "no". The motion carried. The committee reviewed correspondence from A.T. Forseth Construction, Inc. concerning the guarantee on the laying of sod and landscaping of the new city hall-library. The committee discussed the request of the Library Board for consideration to the establishment of the position of a professional librarian. The matter was deferred until the next meeting. Ald. Foldy moved, as seconded by Ald. Dumke, to recommend Council approval of payment of vouchers in the amount of $60,262.14. Motion carried. The committee reviewed the following bids for the use of city-owned lands for farm purposes: Joseph Vesbach - 15393 Grange Ave., New Berlin $15.60 per acre .. Ha~roldDiekfuss -~ S6.9 W15402.Janesville. Rd. ,. Muskego .$15.00 per acre - It was the committee's decision to recommend that the present lessee be retained at a rental of $15.00 per acre. Ald.
