FCM197106028 FINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEG0 MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON JUNE 2, 1971 The meeting was called to order at 7:OO P.M. by Mayor Gottfried. Also present were Aldermen Burgermeister, Narlock and Sapp. The minutes of the previous meeting held on May 19, 1971, were reviewed and placed on file, The following persons appeared to apply for Operators Licenses: Richard Graham 5719 Clover Lane, Greendale, Wis. Randall E. Reinhardt 4574 S. 20th St., Milwaukee, Wis. Richard T. Head S58 W25419 Crest Dr., Waukesha, Wis. Cheryle Ciardo, S78 W16355 Woods Road, Muskego, appeared to apply for a Class "B" Fermented Malt Beverage and Intoxicating Liquor License. Ald. Narlock moved to reconnnend Common Council approval of Operator Licenses for Richard Graham, Randall E. Reinhardt and Richard Head, subject to receipt of favorable Fingerprint Reports. Seconded by Ald. Sapp. Motion carried, The Committee discussed the proposed changes in license fees and will recommend that the fee for cigarette machines remain at $5.00 to agree with State Statutes. A letter from Attorney Buckley, dated May 20, 1971, regarding the lease between Walter Vesbach and the City of Muskego and the interpretation of that part which refers to an increase in rent when basic tax assessment increases. Attorney Buckley agrees with the FinansCommittee that there is no increase due unless the assessment is increased, not just the tax rate. The Mayor will check with the Assessor and City Clerk to see if an increase did occur during the recent reassessment. Ald. Burgermeister requested, on behalf of the Land 0 Lakes Baseball League, that eight "Gathering" Licenses be issued for the following 1971 dates: June 6, 12 and 19, July 4 & 18, and August 1, 8, & 22. Ald. Sapp moved to recommend issuance of these "Gathering" Licenses for the dates listed. Seconded by Ald. Narlock. Motion carried. Ald. Burgermeister advised the Cornittee that Mitch Rosinski appeared at the Park and Recreation Board meeting requesting that the City consider contributing a sum of money toward the Country Fair Days Parade. The Park and Recreation Board had recommended that the City contribute $350.00. Ald. Sapp spoke in opposition to the City con- tributing funds to any one single civic group, and moved to deny the request. Seconded by Ald. Burgermeister. Motion carried. The City of Muskego audits for the year ending December 31, 1971, were discussed. It was decided that the Committee will review them at the next meeting. If the Committee finds it necessary, they will request that the Accountant attend a later meeting for explanations, etc. Ala. .NaTlock- xdtoidjrn. Seconded by Ald. Burgermeister.
