FCM19680807FINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEG0 MINUTES OF MEETING HELD AUGUST 7, 1968 Mayor Wieselmann called the meeting to order at 7:45 P.M. Present were Aldermen Budish, DeBack and Narlock. Also present was Sergeant Kass of the Police Department. I License. Donald Karl of 18500 W. College Ave., New Berlin applied for an Operator's Budish moved and DeBack seconded to recommend payment of vouchers in the amount of $129,491.74 as of 8/13/68. Motion carried. Narlock moved to recommend approval of Operator's License for Donald Karl upon receipt of a favorable medical and fingerprint report. Budish seconded. Motion carried. DeBack moved to recommend approval of a resolution authorizing the letting of bids for a reassessment of the City to be completed in 1969. Narlock seconded. Motion carried. Budish moved and Narlock seconded to recommend approval of an application by Mario Calero for a Class "B" Fermented Malt Beverage and Intoxicating Liquor License. Motion carried. Interest in the amount of $3,750.00 was received from Waukesha State Bank. A letter of appreciation was received from the City of Burlington for the police officers who provided police protection at the Alice in Dairyland pageant in that City on June 15, 1968. Police Chief Kraus will investigate the policy of other cities as to the payment to the City for providing police officers for such duties. Narlock moved to recommend approval of a transfer of funds in the amount of $1600.00 effective September 1, 1968, to cover the employment of an additional Dispatcher at the Police Dept. Budish seconded, motion carried. Budish moved to recommend approval of a transfer of funds in the amount of $2500.00 from Unappropriated Surplus to Police Dept. Acct. #520-0491 for the purpose of covering additional recruiting services and an account deficit. Narlock seconded. Budish and.Narlock voted in favor of motion. DeBack voted against recommendation. Motion carried. After considerable discussion of the dump problem it was decided that it would be best to have the City operate this facility and that Mr. Carl Wauer would meet with the Committee at their next meeting to 0 negotiate a new contract. A review was made of the 1968 Wage and Fringe Benefit Proposals of the Muskego Branch - W.P.P.A. Sergeant Kass explained the proposals that were questiond, It was decided to further study these proposals before negotiating was to begin. " ~.
