FCM19680508FINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEG0 MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MAY 8, 1968 Mayor Wieselmann called the meeting to order at 7:OO P.M. Present were Aldermen Budish, DeBack and Narlock, Police Chief Kraus and Mr. Gottfried. The Minutes of the previous meeting were accepted as received. Alderman DeBack moved to recommend payment of vouchers in the amount of $50,946.38, payable May 14, 1968. Seconded by Alderman Narlock, motion carried. Alderman Budish moved to recommend approval of Operator's License for Lorraine Pearson. Seconded by Alderman DeBack. Motion carried. Motion by Alderman Budish to recommend approval of Civil Defense Director Trepanier's request to update the Civil Defense booklet at a cost of $75.00. Seconded by Alderman DeBack, motion carried. A letter by Police Chief Kraus to Mr. Schultz, operator of the Schultz Shooting Range, outlining the requirements that must be fulfilled before a license will be granted was read and approved. Alderman DeBack moved to recommend payment of expenses incurred by Zoning Officer Lee in the amount of $118.74 while attending the Electrical Inspector's Institute at Green Bay, Wisconsin. Seconded by Alderman Budish, motion carried. William Doubek, 3601 S. 157th St., New Berlin, applieed for an Operator's License. Edward Miller, S74 W14852 Lynn Dr., Muskego, applied for an Operator's License. Dennis Hook, 125 W. College Ave., Waukesha, applied for an Operator's License. Alderman Budish moved to recommend payment of Zoning Officer Lee's expenses in the amount of $84.92 while attending the 1968 Wisconsin Building Institute at Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Seconded by Alderman Narlock. Motion carried. Alderman Budish moved to recommend reconsideration and rescinding of Resolution #60-68 covering sale of Thermofax machine. Seconded by Alderman DeBack, motion carried. A progress report of Phase IV of the Little Muskego Lake study was given by Mr. Casey Kendziorski. Alderman DeBack moved to recommend approval of Operator's License for William Doubek if a favorable fingerprint report is received before the May 14th Council meeting. Seconded by Alderman Narlock, motion carried. Alderman Budish moved to recommend approval of Operator's License for Edward Miller. Seconded by Alderman DeBack, motion carried. Alderman Budish moved to defer action on the application of Dennis Hook for an Operator's License pending a report by Police Chief Kraus on residential requirements in the State of Wisconsin. Alderman DeBack moved to recommend approval of a change of Agent for Muskego Amusement Park to Willard Masterson. Seconded by Alderman Budish, motion carried. Alderman Budish moved to recommend a Police Department transfer of funds from Account #613 to Account 11606 to cover the purchase of four sirens and portable red lights for the Water Patrol. Seconded by Alderman DeBack, motion carried. Alderman Narlock moved to recommend approval of entering into a contract with Samuel P. Murray to investigate income taxes erroneously allocated. Seconded by Alderman Budish, motion carried. Alderman Budish moved to recommend approval of Fire Dept. Chief Ludwig's request for a grant of $845.15 to pay for the Department's Sewer Assessment prior to November 1, 1968. Seconded by Alderman DeBack, motion carried. Alderman Budish to recommend approval of Operator's License for Robert J. Schaack and Patricia Schaack (subject to receipt of her favorable fingerprint report before May 14th Council meeting). Seconded by Alderman Narlock. Motion carried. Alderman Budish moved to recommend approval of Class "B" Fermented Malt Beverage and Class "B" Intoxicating Liquor Licenses as listed on the City of Muskego Official Notice of applicants with the exception of Gilbert Gumieny, Henry Hudziak, Audie Potzner and Theodore Morey. Seconded by Alderman Narlock. Motion carried. Alderman DeBack moved to recommend approval of Class "A" Fermented Malt Beverage and Class "A" Intoxicating Liquor Combined Licenses as listed on the Official Notice. Seconded by Alderman Budish, motion carried. Alderman Narlock moved to recommend approval of Class "A" Fermented Malt Beverage Licenses as listed on the Official Notice. Seconded by Alderman DeBack,. motion carried. A letter was received from the Park and Recreation Board recommending purchase action of Idle Isle. Alderman Budish moved to defer action pending City Attorney's investigation to determine how this purchase is covered by the Open Space usage of the 1961 Housing Act. Seconded by Alderman DeBack, motion carried. Alderman Budish moved to recommend approval of purchase of 2,000 gallon tank and pump, plus installation, to provide gasoline for the Police Department. Payment to be made from Account 11614. Seconded by Alder- man Narlock, motion carried. Alderman DeBack moved to recommend that the Common Council direct the City A'ttorney to prepare a lease of property owned by Mr. Wauer for the purpose of providing the Police Department with a pistol shooting range.
