FCM19670920FINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEG0 MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON SEPTEMBER 20, 1967 0 The regular meeting of the Finance Committee was called to order by Acting Chairman Budish at 7:35 P.M. Also present were Alderman Joost and Chief of Police Kraus. The Police budget for 1968 was discussed at some length. Mayor Gottfried arrived at 8:05 P.M. Mr. John Fullerton was interviewed for application for a Bartender's License. a Leonard Olds appeared to discuss constant difficulty with Paul Mattingly involving the Wing and Fin Tavern on Highway "Y". Mrs. Bowyer appeared before the Finance Committee with requests for payments of $21,866.40 to Edward R. Ryan, Inc. for Project MSS 2-67, $5,265.00 to Grange Construction CompanyJfinal payment on Project MSS 1-67, and $48,636.00 to Grange Construction, Inc. for Project MSS 3-67. Alderman Budish moved to recornend approval by the Council payment of voucher of $75,767.40. Seconded by Alderman Joost, motion carried. Mrs. Bowyer also discussed the use of purchase orders by departments. Alderman Budish moved that all departments use purchase orders as of October 1 , 1967. Any purchase order of $100.00 or more must be countersigned by either the Clerk-Comptroller or the Mayor. Purchases of $100.00 or less shall be signed by department heads. Seconded by Alderman Joost. Motion carried. A letter from the law office of Clayton A. Cramer was received. The letter will be referred to City Attorney Hippenmeyer to determine the City's liability. Alderman Joost moved to recommend to the Council the approval of a Dance Hall License for Mrs. Geraldine Karides and the Jewel Crest Advancement Association for Jensen Recreation Center. Seconded by Alderman Budish, motion carried. Alderman Budish moved to recommend the Council approve an Operator's License for Lucille DeMarts, seconded by Alderman Joost, motion carried. Alderman Budish moved to charge $25.00 for complete copies of our Municipal Code. Seconded by Alderman Joost, motion carried. Alderman Joost moved to request permission from the Council to adverstise for bids to take percolation tests as required in our Subdivision Control Ordinance. Seconded by Alderman Budish, motion carried. An application for a Class "B" Fermented Malt Beverage and Intoxicating Aiquor License was received from Shirley Frank for tavern formerhy known as the Wing and Fin on Highway "Y".
