FINANCE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO
MINUTES OF MEETING IIELD FEBRUARY 2, 1966
Mayor Gottfried called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.
uith Aldermen Budish and Wolf in attendance.
The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and approved and placed on file.
Anton Shaikis, W125 99690 North Cape Rd., appeared before the
Committee with a complaint relative to his taxes. He indicated that for several years including 1964 he ouned 17.12 acre8
of land along with the home in which he resides. In July,
1964, he sold 1.52 acres to Mr. Richard Henkel. In 1964 he
home. The 1965 tax roll still showed 17.12 acres and the was assessed $1770.00 for hia land and $13,325.00 for his
same assessed valuation as previously. He now actually owns
only 15.6 acres of land. He pointed out that Mr. Henkel, to whom he sold the land, was assessed $300.00 for the 1.52 acres that was sold to him. He says that he has gone to the
Assessor but has received no satisfaction, and therefore, has come to this Committee. Mr. Shaikis was advised that the
Committee would check this matter and advise him accordingly.
Joseph Huber, 3635 N. 25th St., Milwaukee, Wisconaln, appeared before this Committee in application for a Bartender License.
He Indicated that he is age 45, married, and no children.
He currently Is employed as a cab driver for the Checker
Cab Company and had previously been with the Transport Company for 15 years. He indicated that he is going to do part time bartending at the Speedway Tap for Mr. Edward Stabo. He has
held licenses in Slinger and Milwaukee and other places and
has been bartending since sometime before 1952. He Indicated

that he had received no convictions of any sort that would

Jack Erickson, 11425 Thompson Dr., Wind Lake, Wisconsin,
appeared before the Committee in application for a Bartender's
License. He is married and has two children and is age 44.
He currently is a distributor for the Vita-Rich Juice Company.
He had indicated that he had a license before in Wind Lake
and Oshkosh and Milwaukee and has received no conviction
that might hamper the issuance of his license. There was no
fingerprint report nor medical report.
Alex Kaczmarczyk, W180 S7683 Raclne Avenue, Muskego, appeared
He is age 22, married, and has three children. He was recently

Oscar Saxvik who lives at S83 W20729 Janesville Rd., Muskego,

License. He is age 42, divorced and is currently uorking as a bus driver for the Checkerway Bus Company. He indicated
that he had a license in Big Bend some years ago and which
expired last June. He Indicated that his background should be
good for his application and license because he worked at
convictions. The medical and fingerprint reports have not

Information was received and read by the Committee relative
to the application of William Deffner. In view of the
information received Alderman Wolf moved that the recommendation
be given the Common Council to deny a Bartender's License

A discussion relative to the payment to the Wisconsin Re-

The dues ayable to the League of Wisconsin Municipalities
totaling 8 348.00 was discusaed. It was the consensus that our membership in the League should be continued since we
have during the course of the last year received valuable
information. There was only an amount of $175.00 in the Budget for this purpose. Alderman Wolf moved that recommend-
ation be made to the Common Council to continue our member- ship in the League of Wisconsin Municipalities and that dues-
be paid in the amount of $348.00 after transferring $173.00
from the General Fund to Account #406. This was seconded
by Alderman Budish, motion carried.
Communication was received from the law authorities relative
to a conviction placed against Martin Oschman, owner of the Aud-Mar Supper Club. Mr. Oschman will be asked to appear
before our next Ceundlmeeting for explanation of the

A letter from Mrs. Melford Foth was read. This dealt with
a complaint about the cutting of weeds on Lot 20 Block 4
in the Bay Shore Subdivision. They had a charge of $9.75 assessed against them on their tax bill and it was determined
that only the middle of the lot had been cut. The Weed Commissioner will be asked to appear at our next meeting to
explain the reasons for this type of cutting, if it is true,
and so that this Committee has both side of the story.
Alderman Budish moved to adjourn at 9r20 P.M. Seconded by
Alderman Wolf.
