FCM19650908FINANCE COMMITTEE 0 CITY OF MUSKEGO MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 8, 1965 Meeting was called to order by Mayor Gottfried at 7:15 PM. Members present were Aldermen Budish, Bostater and Wolf. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as mailed. Mr. Kenneth Payne, 322 Williams Street, Waukesha, Wig., appeared before the Committee in application for a license to tend bar at the Country Squire. He stated that he is age 40 and single, that he had tended var- ious bars for 15 years some of which were Merrill Hills Country Club, 0 0 K & D Tavern, Aiiota's in Wauwatosa and Tumble Brook Country Club. Fin- gerprinted last on Ju.ne 25, 1965. No report received. Charles Green, 817 Michigan Street, Waukesha, Wis., appeared in applica- tion for a license to tend bar. He is age 47, single and tended bar in Waukesha and Milwaukee,several years back he was convicted of serving liquor to a minor, a 19 gear old girl. This was done by a waitress in his tavern, but he was charged, Wishes to lease building at Janesville Road and Racine Avenue and will operate tavern, coffee shop and restur- ant. Wis., in application to operate "The Place" on Racine Avenue. Rosemary Raymond Paprocki and Rosemary Paprocki, 3659 S. 53rd Street, Greenfield, will operate the tavern. She is 35 years of age and they have 5 child- ren. Never had a tavern before but feel this would be a good opportunity. for a bar tending license. He is 24 years of age and separated. He James Washebeck - Bellview Dr., Muskego, Wis., appeared in application has not had a license before. Will be full time bar tender at the Sub- urban Inn. Fingerprint report and medical certificate are clear. George Stoecker, W143 ST570 Indian Trail, Muskego, Wis., appeared in application to tend bar. He is 40 years of age, married, and has 4 children. He had a license in Milwaukee 4 or 5 years ago. Will start at Mike and Mickey's. Fingerprints and medical reports are clear. Ald. Budish moved to recommend to the Council the approval of licenses motion. Motion carried. for James Washebeck and George Stoecker. Ald. Bostater seconded the Ald. Wolf moved to defer action on applications for Paprocki, Green and Payne, Ald. Budish seconded. Motion carried. Vouchers totaling $9,528.31 were presented to the Committee. Several were questioned. Ald. Budish moved to recommend to the Council payment of these vouchers. Ald. Bostater seconded the motion and it carried. Marie Swain of Waukesha, Wis. and a Pu.blic Stenographer, came before the Committee regarding permission to using our zoning ordinance for duplica2 tion by the Village of Big Bend. She stated that the Village had adopt- he could see no objection to this. Ald. Wolf stated that it was his ed our ordinance almost in its entirety. Mayor Gottfried indicated that thou,ght that the City Attorney should be consulted on this matter. A voucher from the Waukesha Welfare Dept. was received for $975.00 credit which was for the month of June. This was because of a change in the assessment. Public Welfare Committee asked in a memo for a brief summary on the function of each Committee. Mayor Gottfried agreed to write the summary for this committee. " MINUTES CONT'D Rules, Laws, and Ordinance Committee sent the amendment to Ord. #l7 to this committee for any suggestions &hat we might have. Several Ord. Committee. suggestions were made which will be referred to the Rules, Laws, 8 Ald. Budish stated that approximately $150.00 would be needed for fencing at the Luther Parker Cemetery. After discussion on the matter it was decided that this would be checked out with Park and Recrea- tion for handling. Ald. Bostater recornended that $50,000.00 be invested in a 90 Day Bank Certificate of Deposit. Ald. Wolf seconded the motion. Motion carried. Meeting was adjourned at 10:55 PM. e 0 e
