COMMON COUNCIL Minutes - 4/19/2016 Approved CITY OF MUSKEGO COMMON COUNCIL MINUTES April 19, 2016 6:00 PM Muskego City Hall, W182 S8200 Racine Avenue Prior to the meeting being called to order, the oath of office was administered to: Patrick T. Berigan Municipal Judge Robert J. Wolfe Alderperson, District 1 Neil E. Borgman Alderperson, District 3 John Engelhardt Alderperson, District 5 A Certificate of Election was given to each elected official. CALL TO ORDER Mayor Chiaverotti called the meeting to order at 6:07 p.m. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Those present recited the Pledge of Allegiance. ROLL CALL Present were Aldermen Wolfe, Hammel, Borgman, Kapusta, Engelhardt, Kubacki and Madden, and Deputy Clerk Blenski. STATEMENT OF PUBLIC NOTICE The Deputy Clerk stated that the meeting was noticed in accordance with the Open Meeting Law. NEW BUSINESS Comments from Newly Elected Officials Judge Berigan, Alderman Wolfe, Alderman Borgman and Alderman Engelhardt made a few brief comments. Election of Council President The Mayor explained the election process. The following nominations were made for Council President: Alderman Wolfe Alderman Madden On the first election ballot, the following votes were cast: Alderman Wolfe - 4 Alderman Madden - 3 Common Council Minutes 2 April 19, 2016 Mayor Chiaverotti announced that Alderman Wolfe was elected President of the Common Council. Election of Council Representative to Plan Commission The following nominations were made: Alderman Borgman Alderman Kubacki The Mayor stated that the ballots need to be initialed and a 2/3 vote was required. On the first through twenty-sixth ballots, the following votes were cast: Alderman Borgman - 4 Alderman Kubacki - 3 On the twenty-seventh ballot, the following votes were cast: Alderman Borgman - 5 Alderman Kubacki - 2 Alderman Borgman was elected to serve as the Council representative to the Plan Commission. Election of Council Representative to Little Muskego Lake Protection & Rehabilitation District The following nominations were made: Alderman Kapusta On the first election ballot, the following votes were cast: Alderman Kapusta - 7 Alderman Kapusta was elected to serve as Council representative to the Little Muskego Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District. CITY OFFICIALS’ REPORTS Mayor Chiaverotti congratulated the newly-elected officials. ADJOURNMENT Alderman Borgman made a motion to adjourn at 6:44 p.m. Alderman Wolfe seconded; motion carried.
