MINUTES OF ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING
HELD APRIL 20, 2010
The meeting was called to order at 6:35 p.m. by Mayor Johnson. Present were Ald. Fiedler,
Schaumberg, Schneider, Werner, Borgman, Harenda and Snead, and Clerk-Treasurer Moyer.
Those present recited the Pledge of Allegiance. The Clerk noted that the meeting was noticed
in accordance with the open meeting law.
NEW BUSINESS
Ald. Schneider presented comments as the outgoing Alderman of District 5.
The Honorable Judge William J. Domina administered the oath of office to:
Patrick T. Berigan Municipal Judge
Tracy Snead Alderman District 1
Neil Borgman Alderman District 3
Dan Soltysiak Alderman District 5
A Certificate of Election was given to each elected official. Aldermen Soltysiak took his place at
the Council table.
Judge Domina congratulated the officials on their election to office and spoke briefly.
Judge Berigan and Aldermen Snead, Borgman, and Soltysiak presented their comments as
newly elected officials.
Reso. #042-2010 – Expressing Appreciation to William Schneider. Snead moved for
adoption. Werner seconded. Motion carried 7-0. Mayor Johnson presented the resolution
to William Schneider.
ELECTION OF COUNCIL PRESIDENT
Mayor noted the person receiving a majority vote of the Council would be the Council President.
The following nominations were made:
Alderman Snead
Alderman Harenda
On the first election ballot, the following votes were cast:
Alderman Snead 4
Alderman Harenda 3
Mayor Johnson stated that Alderman Snead was elected President of the Common Council.
ELECTION OF COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE TO THE PLAN COMMISSION
Mayor noted a 2/3 vote (5 votes) was required and ballots needed to be initialed.
On the nominating ballot, the following nominations were made:

Alderman Soltysiak
On the first election ballot, the following votes were cast:

Alderman Harenda 3

After the first ballot Ald. Snead withdrew her name from the list of nominees.
On the second election ballot, the following votes were cast:

Alderman Fiedler 2
Alderman Soltysiak 1
On the third election ballot, the following votes were cast:
Alderman Harenda 3
Alderman Borgman 1
Alderman Fiedler 3
Alderman Soltysiak 0
On the fourth, fifth, and sixth election ballot, the following votes were cast:
Alderman Harenda 3
Alderman Borgman 1
Alderman Fiedler 3
Alderman Soltysiak 0
A short recess was taken at 7:05 p.m., the Council reconvened at 7:10 p.m.
On the seventh election ballot, the following votes were cast:
Alderman Harenda 3
Alderman Borgman 3
Alderman Fiedler 1
Alderman Soltysiak 0
On the eighth election ballot, the following votes were cast:
Alderman Harenda 4
Alderman Borgman 2
Alderman Fiedler 1
Alderman Soltysiak 0
After the eighth ballot Ald. Fiedler withdrew his name from the list of nominees.
On the ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth election ballot, the following votes were cast:

The Mayor stopped the voting for Council representative to the Plan Commission. He deferred
the voting until the April 27, 2010, Regular Common Council Meeting.
ELECTION OF COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE TO LITTLE MUSKEGO LAKE PROTECTION
AND REHABILITATION DISTRICT
The Mayor noted that the person receiving the highest vote would be elected; ballots must be
initialed.
On the nominating ballot, the following nominations were made:
Alderman Werner
Alderman Soltysiak
On the first election ballot, the following votes were cast:
Alderman Werner 6
Alderman Soltysiak 1
Alderman Werner was elected to serve as Council representative to the Little Muskego Lake
Protection and Rehabilitation District.
Snead moved to adjourn at 7:23 p.m. Fiedler seconded; motion carried.
