MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MARCH 23, 2010
The meeting was called to order at 7:45 p.m. by Mayor Johnson. Present were Ald.
Schaumberg, Schneider, Werner, Borgman, Harenda, Snead, and Deputy Clerk
Blenski. Ald. Fiedler was absent. Those present recited the Pledge of Allegiance. The
Deputy stated that the meeting was noticed in accordance with the open meeting law on
March 19, 2010.
There were no communications from the Mayor.
PUBLIC HEARING
The Deputy Clerk read the public hearing notice to consider the petition of Michael and
Sharon Plumley to rezone property known as S76 W18180 Janesville Road from ERS-3
Existing Residence District to DR-1 - Downtown Revival District and to grant a 2020
Comprehensive Plan Amendment from Medium Density Residential to Commercial for
the purpose of bringing the existing nonconforming business use into a conforming use.
Mayor Johnson stated he received one call from an adjacent resident who expressed
concern about future uses of the property if the existing business is terminated. He
noted that the petitioners’ son-in-law, David Scholfield, was present. Mr. Scholfield
stated that property owners want to make sure that the current use can continue in light
of the Janesville Road reconstruction project. If a catastrophic event occurred, the
building could not be rebuilt because of the present nonconforming status. No one else
requested to be heard; the Mayor declared the hearing closed.
CONSENT AGENDA
Ald. Werner moved to approve the items under the Consent Agenda. Ald.
Borgman seconded. Motion carried 6 in favor.

NEW BUSINESS
Ord. #1315 - An Ordinance to Amend the Zoning Map of the City of Muskego (Plumley -
ERS-3 to DR-1). First Reading.
Ord. #1316 - An Ordinance to Amend Chapter 1, Section 1.04, of the Municipal Code of
the City of Muskego (General Government - Appointed Officials). First Reading.
LICENSE APPROVAL
Ald. Borgman moved to approve a Temporary License to Sell Fermented Malt
Beverages for Bethlehem Lutheran Church, W124 S9995 North Cape Road, for
April 17, 2010. Ald. Harenda seconded. Motion carried 6 in favor.
Ald. Borgman moved to approve a Temporary License to Sell Wine for the Friends
of Muskego Public Library, S73 W16663 Janesville Road, for May 15, 2010. Ald.
Werner seconded. Motion carried 6 in favor.
VOUCHER APPROVAL
Ald. Snead moved for approval of payment of General Vouchers in the amount of
$286,060.76. Ald. Werner seconded. Motion carried 6 in favor.
Ald. Snead moved for approval of payment of Utility Vouchers in the amount of
$2,658,807.12. Ald. Harenda seconded. Motion carried 6 in favor.
CITY OFFICIALS’ REPORTS
The April calendar was reviewed. The Common Council Organizational Meeting will be
scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on April 20, 2010.
ADJOURNMENT
Ald. Snead moved to adjourn at 7:54 p.m. Ald. Schneider seconded; motion
carried.
