MINUTES OF ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING HELD APRIL 16, 2002
The meeting was called to order at 7:01 p.m. by Mayor De Angelis. Also present were
Aldermen Slocomb, Sanders, Petfalski, Salentine, Le Doux, Patterson and Wichgers,
City Atty. Molter and Clerk-Treasurer Marenda.
Those present recited the Pledge of Allegiance. The Clerk-Treasurer noted that the
meeting was noticed in accordance with the open meeting law on April 11th.
NEW BUSINESS
Comments from Mayor De Angelis as outgoing Mayor. Mayor De Angelis reviewed
issues faced by the City during his nine years as Mayor. He relinquished the Chair to
Ald. Slocomb as Acting-Mayor, elected but not yet certified.
Comments from Ald. Wichgers as outgoing Alderman, District 3. Ald. Wichgers
expressed thanks for the opportunity to serve.
Circuit Court Judge Patrick C. Haughney administered the oath of office to:
Pat Patterson Alderperson District 1
Charles H. Damaske Alderperson District 3
Rick Petfalski Alderperson District 5
Patrick T. Berigan Municipal Judge
The Clerk-Treasurer presented a Certificate of Election to each newly elected official.
Judge Haughney congratulated the officials on their election to office, and wished them
all well with the duties to be undertaken.
Aldermen Patterson, Damaske and Petfalski, and Judge Berigan spoke briefly.
Reso. #82-2002 – Expressing Appreciation to Chuck Wichgers. Petfalski moved for
adoption. Le Doux seconded. Motion carried 7-0.
Reso. #83-2002 – Expressing Appreciation to David L. De Angelis. Salentine moved
for adoption. Sanders seconded. Motion carried 7-0.
Le Doux moved to adjourn at 7:37 p.m. Ald. Patterson seconded; motion carried.
