CM042099ORG COMMON COUNCIL - CITY OF MUSKEGO (Approved 4/27/99) MINUTES OF ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING HELD APRIL 20, 1999 The meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m. by Mayor De Angelis. Also present were Aldermen Slocomb, Chiaverotti, Patterson, Pionek, Salentine, Sanders, and Clerk Treasurer Marenda and Circuit Judge Robert Mawdsley. Alderman Woodard was not present. The Clerk-Treasurer noted that the meeting was noticed in accordance with the open meetings law. The Mayor read the outgoing comments of Alderman Donna Woodard. Judge Mawdsley administered the oaths of office to: David L. De Angelis Mayor William Le Doux Alderperson District 2 Nancy Salentine Alderperson District 4 Dave Sanders Alderperson District 6 Mark Slocomb Alderperson District 7 Mayor De Angelis, Aldermen Le Doux, Salentine, Sanders and Slocomb made their comments as newly elected officials. Reso. #60-99 - Recognizing the service of Donna M. Woodard. Slocomb moved for adoption. Le Doux seconded. Carried 6-0. The Mayor stated the nomination and voting ballots did not require initialization for the election of Council President; and noted that a simple majority vote was required for Plan Commission representative, rather than the 2/3 vote required in the past. ELECTION OF COUNCIL PRESIDENT On the nominating ballot, the following nomination was made: Alderman Slocomb 7 On the first election ballot, the following votes were cast: Alderman Slocomb 7 Alderman Slocomb was elected President of the Common Council. Common Council Organizational Meeting April 20, 1999 2 ELECTION OF COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE TO THE PLAN COMMISSION On the nominating ballot, the following nominations were made: Alderman Salentine 5 Alderman Le Doux 2 On the first election ballot, the following votes were cast: Alderman Salentine 5 Alderman Le Doux 2 Alderman Salentine was elected to serve as Council Representative to the Plan Commission. ELECTION OF COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE TO THE LITTLE MUSKEGO LAKE PROTECTION AND REHABILITATION DISTRICT Mayor noted that the Council representative should own property in the lake district if possible. On the nominating ballot, the following nomination was made: Alderman Salentine 7 On the first election ballot, the following votes were cast: Alderman Salentine 7 Alderman Salentine was elected to serve as Council representative to the Little Muskego Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District.
