CM042198ORG COMMON COUNCIL - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING HELD APRIL 21, 1998 The meeting was called to order at 7:14 p.m. by Mayor De Angelis. Also present were Aldermen D’Acquisto, Patterson, Pionek, Salentine, Sanders, Slocomb and Woodard, Deputy Clerk Blenski and Circuit Judge Robert Mawdsley. The deputy clerk noted that the meeting was noticed in accordance with the open meetings law. Alderman D’Acquisto presented his outgoing comments. Judge Mawdsley administered the oaths of office to: Patrick Patterson Alderperson District 1 Donald Pionek Alderperson District 3 Kathy Chiaverotti Alderperson District 5 Judge Mawdsley presented a few brief comments. Aldermen Patterson, Pionek and Chiaverotti made their comments as newly elected officials. Reso. #59-98 - Expressing Appreciation to Domonic R. D’Acquisto. Salentine moved for adoption. Patterson seconded. Carried 7-0. The Mayor acknowledged D’Acquisto’s contributions tot he City and thanked him for his service. The Mayor stated the nomination and voting ballots did not require initialization for the election of Council President. ELECTION OF COUNCIL PRESIDENT On the nominating ballot, the following nomination was made: Alderman Sanders 3 Alderman Slocomb 4 On the first election ballot, the following votes were cast: Alderman Sanders 2 Alderman Slocomb 5 Alderman Slocomb was elected President of the Common Council. Common Council Organizational Meeting April 21, 1998 2 ELECTION OF COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE TO THE PLAN COMMISSION On the nominating ballot, the following nominations were made: Alderman Salentine 7 On the first election ballot, the following votes were cast: Alderman Salentine 7 Alderman Salentine was elected to serve as Council Representative to the Plan Commission. ELECTION OF COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE TO THE LITTLE MUSKEGO LAKE PROTECTION AND REHABILITATION DISTRICT Mayor noted that the Council representative should own property in the lake district if possible. On the nominating ballot, the following nomination was made: Alderman Salentine 7 On the first election ballot, the following votes were cast: Alderman Salentine 7 Alderman Salentine was elected to serve as Council representative to the Little Muskego Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District. COMMITTEE REPORTS The Mayor read the minutes of the Special Public Works Committee meeting held 4/21/98. Pionek moved for acceptance of the minutes. Woodard seconded; motion carried. COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS AS AUTHORIZED BY LAW The Mayor noted that the 4/22/98 Finance Committee meeting will be held as a quorum will be present. He also stated that he will present his committee appointments at the 4/28/98 Council meeting. Sanders moved to adjourn at 7:44 p.m. Pionek seconded; motion carried.
