MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 26, 1996
The meeting was called to order at 6:55 P.M. by Mayor De Angelis.
Also present were Aldermen D'Acquisto, Patterson, Pionek, Rasmussen,
Salentine, and Suhr, and Clerk-Treasurer Marenda. Alderman Sanders
was not present.
The Clerk-Treasurer reported that the meeting was noticed in
accordance with the Open Meeting Law.
OLD BUSINESS
D'Acquisto moved for reconsideration. Salentine seconded. Suhr moved
Reso. #223-96 - A Resolution for Inclusion Under Group Life Insurance.
to amend to delete check mark in last box. Rasmussen seconded,
carried. Resolution #223-96 as amended adopted 6-0.
NEW BUSINESS
Reso. #225-96 - Authorization to Execute State Aids Agreement for the
Dredging of the Muskego Wind Lake Canal Project. D'Acquisto moved for
adoption. Salentine seconded. Mayor advised formal Aids Agreement
has not been received from DNR, but verbal commitment has been made to
fund this project. Motion carried 6-0.
Reso. #226-96 - Award of Bid - Muskego Wind Lake Canal Dredging
Project (Steffes-$83,880). D'Acquisto moved for adoption. Rasmussen
Bruch explained the project. The advisory committee made up of DNR
seconded. Grant Administrator Mark Paulat and DNR representative Mike
Paulat did not come to a unanimous decision to recommend approval, due
staff, SEWRPC staff, Wind Lake District, Big Muskego Lake District and
to a concern by Wind Lake of the qualifications of the low bidder.
Paulat advised the low bidder appeared to be knowledgeable with all
phases of marine construction, own their own equipment and have done
dredging projects in the past. Bruch advised there were no concerns
voiced by the DNR staff. Low bidder Mr. Steffes was given privilege
of the floor. He stated they had extensive experience in aquatic work
and construction projects. Mr. Steffes stated he understood the
specifications and was prepared to complete the project as specified.
Motion to adopt Reso. X226-96 adopted 6-0.
COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS AS AUTHORIZED BY LAW
Vicki Gosse regarding Business Park. Rasmussen reported the Library
Rasmussen requested a response be made to correspondence received from
Board and Building Committee are concerned about the wording of the
referendum question on the November ballot, and asked what will be
done to inform the public of the proposal.
Salentine moved to adjourn at 1:25 P.M. Patterson seconded, carried.
