ccm19950418CITY OF MUSKEGO COMMON COUNCIL MINUTES OF ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING HELD APRIL 18, 1995 The meeting was called to order at 7:OO PM by Mayor De Angelis. Also present were Aldermen Patterson, Dumke, Misko, Sanders D'Acquisto, Taube and Woodard, City Clerk Marenda, Attorney Trindl, and Circuit Judge Robert Mawdsley. made. Comments from outgoing Aldermen Woodard, Taube and Dumke were Judge Mawdsley administered the oaths of office to: Mark Suhr, Alderman District 2 Nancy Salentine, Alderman District 4 David Sanders, Alderman District 6 Robert Rasmussen, Alderman District 7 Judge Mawdsley spoke briefly. Each new alderman made a few comments. Reso. #73-95 Expressing Appreciation to Edwin P. Dumke. Patterson moved for adoption. Sanders seconded. Dumke was thanked for his contributions as Alderman. Motion carried 7-0. Mayor presented Dumke with a plaque in appreciation of his 24 years of service to the City. Patterson moved for adoption. Misko seconded. Taube was Reso. #74-95 - Expressing Appreciation to David Taube. thanked for his contributions as Alderman. Motion carried 7-0. Reso. #75-95 - Expressing Appreciation to Donna M. Woodard. Patterson moved for adoption. Sanders seconded. Woodard was thanked for her contributions as Alderman. Motion carried 7-0. Mayor reminded all aldermen to initial the paper ballots when casting their votes, and noted a simple majority was needed for Council President and LML Rep, and a 213 vote for Plan Commission representative. ELECTION OF COUNCIL PRESIDENT On the nominating ballot, the following votes were cast: Ald. Patterson 3 Ald. D'Acquisto 3 Ald. Misko 1 On the first election ballot, the following votes were cast: Ald. D'Acquisto 4 Ald. Patterson 3 Common Council Organizational Meeting April 18, 1995 Page 2 Alderman D'Acquisto was elected President of the Common Council. ELECTION OF COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE TO THE PLAN COMMISSION On the nominating ballot, the following votes were cast: Ald. Misko 4 Ald. Sanders 3 On the first election ballot, the following votes were cast: Ald. Misko 4 Ald. Sanders 3 On the second election ballot, the following votes were cast: Ald. Misko 4 Ald. Sanders 3 On the third election ballot, the following votes were cast: Ald. Misko 4 Ald. Sanders 3 On the fourth election ballot, the following votes were cast: Ald. Misko 6 Ald. Sanders 1 Aldermen Misko was elected to serve as Council Representative to the Plan Commission. ELECTION OF COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE TO THE LITTLE MUSKEG0 LAKE PROTECTION AND REHABILITATION DISTRICT Mayor noted the Council representative should reside in the lake district. Atty. Trindl confirmed that the statutes indicate the representative should own property in the lake district, if possible. On the nominating ballot, the following votes were cast: Ald. Salentine 4 Ald. Misko 3 On the first election ballot, the following votes were cast: Ald. Salentine 4 Ald. Misko 3 Ald. Salentine was elected to serve as Council representative to the Little Muskego Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District. Common Council Organizational Meeting April 18, 1995 Page 3 Mayor announced that the paper ballots were available for public inspection and can be viewed at any time. City Clerk reminded the Council of the joint Common Council/Library Board meeting to be held at 7:OO PM on Monday, April 24, 1995. Mayor stated that since the appointments to committees would not would meet on 4/19/95 and 4/25/95 with current member Sanders be made until the next Council meeting, the Finance Committee meet on 4/20/95 with current members Sanders and D'Acquisto. and Council President D'Acquisto, and Utilities Committee would Ald.
