MINUTES OF ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING HELD APRIL 18, 1989
Called to order by Mayor Salentine at 7:07 p.m. Also present
were Aldermen Dumke, Hilt, Patterson, Sanders and Taube, City
Attorney Molter and City Clerk Marenda. Aldermen Penovich and
Repischak were absent.
Municipal Judge Peter Lentz made a brief presentation and
administered the oath of office to William T. Simmons, Alderman
District XI, David Taube, Alderman District IV, David J. Sanders,
Alderman District VI and Edwin P. Dumke, Alderman District VII.
Each newly elected official made a few remarks.
It was noted the Rules, Laws 6 Ordinance Committee identified a
‘*dead-lock” vote as occuring after ten votes, at which time the
vote would be taken by a show of hands.
City Clerk Marenda acted as ballot clerk.
ELECTION OF COUNCIL PRESIDENT
On the nominating ballot, the following votes were cast:
Ald. H. Sanders 3
Ald. Patterson 2
Ald. Taube 1
Ald. Dumke I
On the first election ballot, the following votes were cast:
Ald. H. Sanders 4
Ald. Patterson 3
Ald. H. Sanders was elected President of the Common Council.
ELECTION OF COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE TO THE PLAN COMMISSION
On the nominating ballot, the following votes were cast:
Ald. Hilt 4
Ald. Patterson 1
Ald. Taube I
Ald. Simmons 1
On the first election ballot, the following votes were cast:
Ald. Hilt 6
Ald. Taube 1
Ald. Hilt was elected to serve as Council representative to the
Plan Commission.
