MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JUNE 14, 1988
were Aldermen Dumke, Hilt, Patterson, Penovich, Sanders, Taube,
Called to order by Chairman Salentine at 8:OO P.M. Also present
City Clerk Marenda and City Atty. Macy. Alderman Repischak was
abs ent.
Those present joined in the Pledge of Allegiance to commemorate
Flag Day on June 14th.
The Mayor opened the meeting by announcing that this was an open
meeting of the Common Council. Notice of this meeting was given
to the public at least 24 hours prior to the meeting by
forwarding the complete agenda to the official City newspaper,
same as well as posting. Copies of the complete agenda were
the Muskego Sun, and to all news media who have requested the
available for inspection at the City Clerk's office. Anyone
desiring information as to forthcoming meetings should contact
the City Clerk's office.
Penovich moved, Hilt seconded, to approve minutes of meeting held
5/24/88. Carried.

Penovich moved to accept Minutes of Finance Committee Meetings
held June 8 and June 14. Dumke seconded. Motion carried.

Levying a Tax in Connection Therewith. Dumke moved for
adoption. Penovich seconded. Financial consultant Seegar
Swanson explained. Motion carried 6-0.
Reso.#139-88 - Approval of Various License Applications for the
City of Muskego for the Licensing Period July 1, 1988 to June 30,
1989. Dumke moved for adoption. Hilt seconded. Motion carried
6-0.
Reso.11140-88 - Establishing Traffic Regulations. Taube moved for
adoption. Sanders seconded, carried 6-0.
Reso.#141-88 - Acceptance of Quote, Tractor and Backhoe. Dumke
moved for adoption. Taube seconded, carried 6-0.

Wisconsin Bell. Penovich moved for adoption. Dumke seconded,
carried 6-0.
Reso.#146-88 - Road Construction Schultz Lane. Dumke moved for
adoption. Penovich seconded. Dumke moved to amend by adding:
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City is authorized to enter into
an agreement with subject property owners to allow a maximum 10-
year payment plan. Sanders seconded, carried 6-0. Resolution
#146-88 as amended adopted 6-0.
Reso.#147-88 - Proceeding by the Common Council of the City Of
Muskego to Discontinue and Vacate a Part of Ruby Drive in the
City of Muskego, Wisconsin. Resolution was introduced.
Reso.1148-88 - Authorize Expenditure of Funds, Purchase of Squad
Car. Penovich moved for adoption with the words "Approval,"
purchase price of $14,547.70 and Jim Kornak ChevroletJOldsmobile,
Inc. inserted. Taube seconded. Hilt moved to amend by deleting
Replacement Account in last paragraph. Penovich seconded,
the second paragraph and adding "if needed" after Squad
carried 6-0. Resolution #148-88 as amended adopted 6-0.
Reso.#149-88 - Authorizing Execution of the 1988 Labor Agreement
Between Local 2414, AFSCME (Telecommunicators Unit) and the City
of Muskego. Dumke moved for adoption with the word "Approval"
inserted. Penovich seconded, carried 6-0.
Ord.#614 - An Ordinance to Amend Chapter 9.03, of the Municipal
Code of the City of Muskego (Fireworks) - First reading. Dumke
moved to suspend rules to allow second reading. Hilt seconded,
carried 6-0. Second reading. Hilt moved for adoption. Penovich
seconded. Taube moved to amend by adding "a group of neighbors
with approval of Safety Committee" after "civic association"
under Section 1, 9.03, (2). Patterson seconded. Motion to amend
defeated 4-2 with Dumke, Hilt, Penovich and Sanders voting "no"
and Patterson and Taube voting yes. Ordinance #614 adopted 4-2
with Patterson and Taube voting no and Dumke, Hilt, Penovich and
Sanders voting yes.

Ord.#615 - An Ordinance to Amend Chapter 11, Section 11.03(2) of
the Municipal Code (Landfill) - First reading. The Clerk was
directed to provide Aldermen with copies of Plan Commission's
recommended changes.
LICENSE APPROVAL - Penovich moved for approval of Operator's

Penovich moved for approval of Refuse Hauling License for
Sanitary Disposal Service, City of Waukesha Incinerator and BFI
Waste System. Dumke seconded, carried.
Penovich moved for approval of a Salvage & Recycling License for
Jim Kohne. Taube seconded, carried.
Penovich moved for approval of a Gathering Permit for Muskego
Women's Softball League (June 25 and June 26) and Little Muskego
Lake Association (July 8 through July 10). Taube seconded,
carried.
VOUCHER APPROVAL - Penovich moved for approval of payment of
General Vouchers in the amount of $316,316.33. Dumke seconded,
carried.
Sanders moved for approval of payment of Utility Vouchers in the
amount of $3,955.45. Hilt seconded, carried.
CITY OFFICIAL'S REPORTS - Continuation of Discussion of
Interaction between Council and Clerk's Office by Council
President was deferred to next meeting.
0 Mayor advised he is considering issuing a temporary ban on
burning. -
Clerk announced Public Hearing on vacating road right of way,
Ruby Drive, will be July 26, 1988.
ADJOURNMENT - Hilt moved to adjourn at 10:20 p.m. Penovich
seconded, carried.
