ccm19880504COMMON COUNCIL CITY OF MUSKEG0 MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING HELD MAY 4, 1988 were Aldermen Dumke, Hilt, Patterson, Penovich, Sanders and Called to order by Chairman Salentine at 7:06 P.M. Also present Taube, and City Clerk Marenda. Ald. DeAngelis was absent. Procedure was established for filling of vacancy of Ald. DeAngelis, who had resigned. The candidates would be interviewed the nominating ballot would proceed to the election ballot. in alphabetical order. It was agreed that only those named on Three election ballots would be cast if necessary to determine ballot. In the event of a tie after the third ballot, a special the two highest candidates who would proceed to the next election election ballot on the two tied candidates, and who were not the top vote getter, would be held. The two top candidates would then proceed to the next election ballot. If tied after the third ballot, those two candidates would be interviewed further. A maximum of three additional ballots would be cast. If still tied, the Mayor would break the tie vote by determining his vote by a flip of a coin. Mayor also suggested the Rules, Laws and Ordinance Committee consider adoption of a similar policy for future elections of Council President and representatives to Plan Commission and Little Muskego Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District. Council recessed for Finance Committee interviews of Operator License applicants at 8:20 P.M. Council reconvened at 9:00 P.M. The following candidates were interviewed: 1. Lev DeBack 2. E. Vernon Eder, Jr. 4. Thomas E. Repischak 3. Russell J. Jankowski (absent-letter and resume read) 5. David J. Sanders 6. Maynard L. Schuessler James A. Pratt had withdrawn his application. On the nominating ballot to elect a Council Representative to the Plan Commission, the following votes were cast: Penovich 5 Patterson 1 Taube 1 On the first election ballot, the following votes were cast: Penovich Taube 5 2 Miscellaneous Business The Mayor noted that the City’s errors and ommissions insurance had been renewed for another year with an annual premium of $15,000 as budgeted, but would now include deductibles. . . He also advised that he was attending a meeting with the Chairman of the Utilities Committee, the City Engineers and City Attorney on 5/10/88 regarding the Waste Management Sewer Agreement. Recreation Board meeting on 5/9/88 at 7:OO P.M. for discussion on Patterson reported that all were invited to attend the Parks and boat launching at Little Muskego Lake.
