ccm19880419COMMON COUNCIL - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING HELD APRIL 19, 1988 * Called to order by Chairman Salentine at 7:05 P.M. Also present were Aldermen DeAngelis, Dumke, Hilt, Patterson, Penovich, Sanders and Taube and City Clerk Stewart. who made a few opening comments before administering the Oath of Mayor Salentine introduced Circuit Court Judge Marianne E. Becker Office to the following: Mayor City Clerk/Comptroller Jean K. Marenda Treasurer Jean A. Sanders Assessor Paul M. DeAngelis Alderman, District I Patrick A. Patterson Alderman, District 111 Daniel J. Hilt Alderman, District V Harold L. Sanders Wayne G. Salentine Each official made brief comments. ELECTION OF COUNCIL PRESIDENT City Clerk Stewart and City Clerk-Elect Marenda acted as ballot clerks. On the nominating ballot, the following votes were cast: Ald. Dumke 4 Ald. Patterson 1 Ald. Penovich 1 Ald. Hilt 1 On the first election ballot, the following votes were cast: Ald. Dumke 5 Ald. Patterson 1 Ald. Hilt 1 Ald. Dumke was elected as President of the Common Council. ELECTION OF COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE TO THE PLAN COMMISSION On the nominating ballot, the following votes were cast: Ald. Penovich 3 Ald. Taube 2 Ald. Patterson 1 Ald. Hilt 1 On the first election ballot, the following votes were cast: Ald. Penovich 4 Ald. Taube 3 On the 2nd thru 7th election ballots, the following votes were Ald. Penovich 4 Ald. Taube 3 Common Council Minutes 4/19/88 - Page 2 Ald. Dumke moved to defer action until the next meeting, with the present representative to continue to serve until a new representative is elected. Ald. Sanders seconded. Motion defeated 7-0. On the 8th thru 13th election ballots, the following votes were cast : Ald. Penovich 4 Ald. Taube 3 Ald. DeAngelis moved to defer action until the next Council Penovich and Sanders voting "yes" and Patterson and Taube voting meeting. Hilt seconded, carried 5-2 with Dumke, DeAngelis, Hilt, Itno" ELECTION OF COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE TO THE LITTLE MUSKEG0 LAKE PROTECTION AND REHABILITATION DISRICT On the nominating ballot, the following votes were cast: Ald. Taube 4 Ald. Sanders 2 Ald. Hilt 1 On the first election ballot, the following votes were cast: Ald. Taube 7 Ald. Taube was elected to serve as Council representative to the Little Muskego Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District. COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS Mayor Salentine made appointments to the followine committees: Utiiities Committee Ald. Harold L. Sanders, Chairman Ald. Daniel J. Hilt - 6th District Alderman (when selected, with ~~ ~. Ald. DeAngelis to serve until then) Finance Committee Ald. Edwin P. Dude Mayor Wayne G. Salentine, Chairman Ald. Mitchel E. Penovich Ald.
