Also present were Aldermen DeAngelis, Dumke, Hilt, Patterson, Taube and Tornczyk, City Clerk Stewart, and Acting City Attorney Macy. Ald. Penovich was absent. Taube moved, Tomczyk seconded, to approve minutes of meeting held 1/14/86. Carried. COMMUNICATIONS FROM MAYOR'S OFFICE Mayor Salentine requested a moment of silence in honor of the passengers on the Challenger spacecraft which exploded shortly after take-off today, and ordered all municipal flags to be flown at half mast. Bob Reinke and Pete Oglevie presented the City of Muskego with a percentage of population in attendance at "Muskego Day at the trophy from the Milwaukee Brewers for having the highest Brewers'' game. 0 COMMITTEE REPORTS Tomczyk presented minutes of Finance Committee meetings held 1/22/86 and 1/28/86 and moved for acceptance. Dumke seconded, carried. Patterson resented minutes of Public Safety Committee meeting held 1/13/g6 and moved for acceptance. Taube seconded. Taube moved to act on the second paragraph separately. Tomczyk paragraph deleted carried. Taube moved to correct the intent of seconded, carried. Motion to accept minutes with second the second paragraph to have two statements: 1) to look at possibility of upgrading the road in terms of parking off the road, and 2) to require "No Parking" signs on both sides of the street. Patterson seconded, carried. Patterson presented minutes of Rules, Laws and Ordinance Committee meeting held 1/13/86 and moved for acceptance. Taube seconded, carried. LICENSE APPROVAL - Tomczyk moved for approval of operator's licenses for Margaret Oschmann, Chris Almli, Cheryl Ristow, Daniel Sell, Victoria Jakobson, Melinda Winkler and Mike Lehmbeck. Hilt seconded, carried. Tomczyk moved for approval of Gathering Permit for Icetronauts Snowmobile Club for 218-9186. Taube seconded, carried. HalllLibrary, with the Police Department designated as Tomczyk moved for approval of alarm system permits for City responsible party, and for Henry Pankau. Taube seconded, carried. VOUCHER APPROVAL - Tomczyk moved for approval of payment of General Vouchers in amount of $40,636.01 for 1985 and $115,089.42 for 1986. Dumke seconded, carried. Tomczyk moved for approval of payment of Sewer Utility vouchers in amount of $2,845.73. Taube seconded, carried 6-0. CITY OFFICIAL'S REPORTS - Clerk announced a public hearing was Ingersoll Cable Corp. for a $3.00 increase for basic service. set for February 11, 1986 at 7:15 P.M. to consider request of 0 0 COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS AS AUTHORIZED BY LAW - Mayor reported Library Board held special meeting to react to have the manufacturer ship the correct color of shelving, with Council's concerns regarding shelving. Their decision was to the wrong colored shelving dismantled by volunteers within a three week time period allowed by the manufacturer, and returned after receipt of the new shelving. Patterson and Taube felt week time frame extended. DeAngelis felt Council should stand by compensation should be given for labor involved and the three decision of Library Board. Mayor felt only possibility to obtain remuneration would be to file a civil suit, but an extension of time could be requested. Concensus was to agree with Library Board's decision, and to request extension to make switch. ADJOURNMENT - Tomczyk moved to adjourn at 9:20 P.M. Dumke seconded, carried. Charlotte L. Stewart
