ccm19841029COMMON COUNCIL CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING HELD OCTOBER 29, 1984 Called to order by Acting Chairman Tomczyk. Also present were Aldermen Penovich, Hilt, Dumke and DeAngelis and Deputy Clerk Marenda. Mayor Salentine, Clerk Stewart and Aldermen Gaetzke and Nilsson were absent. NEW BUSINESS Reso.#230-84 - Supporting Request of New Berlin for Development of Comprehensive Plan by SEWRPC for the Linnie Lac Watershed Basin. Hilt moved for adoption. DeAngelis seconded. Wil Vidal requested that the City also request SEWRPC to do a comprehensive study for Little Muskego Lake in addition to the support for New Berlin so long range plans can be prepared. Hilt moved to amend the third paragraph to add "and Little Muskego Lake watershed". DeAngelis seconded. Mr. Ben Spies questioned why the Little Muskego Lake District was not involved. Mr. Vidal explained that the availability of funds became known after the District's annual meeting, and that only municipalities may apply for #230-84 As Amended carried unanimously. funds. Motion to amend carried unanimously. Motion to adopt Reso.#231-84 - Application for Grant Funds-Scenic Urban Waterways Program (Little Muskego LakefJewel Creek Drainage Project). Hilt moved for adoption. DeAnrrelis seconded. Wil Vidal explained 0 reported on the 10/18/84 Task Force meeting and reviewed the strategy of application p;ocess. New Berlin Ald. Stan'Smith seven points in the Soil Conservation Service letter dated 10/12/84. Supt. Bertram reported that preliminary Jewel Creek Drainage Project plans were prepared by Ruekert & Mielke after failure of approval of Little Muskego Lake dredging project. Harry Udvare stated that District approval of expenditures is necessary. Mr. Vidal stated that he was asking for the City of New Berlin to request $125,000 in grant funds and the City of Muskego to request $125,000. He added that the Lake District would never be asked to fund a part of the project. Mr. Vidal stated that grant funds are available for 80% of the project, and if approved, he would go to the Little Muskego Lake Association to request a $25,000 donation, or work-in-kind. Motion to adopt Reso. #231-84 carried unanimously. 1 COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS Ald. Tomczyk moved to direct the Mayor to mail a budget message to all the property owners listed on the tax roll. Hilt seconded, carried unanimously. ADJOURNMENT - Penovich moved to adjourn at ?:35 P.M.
