MINUTES OF ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING HELD APRIL 17, 1984
Called to order by Chairman Salentine at 7:05 P.M. Also present
were Ald. Penovich, Colburn, DeAngelis, Dumke, Gaetzke, Nilsson
and Tomczyk, City Clerk Stewart and City Attorney Molter.
Ald. Colburn presented his comments as outgoing alderman of the
3rd District.
Mayor Salentine introduced Judge Mark S. Gempeler who spoke to
the Council and then administered the Oaths of Office to the
following elected and appointed City officials:

Municipal Justice

Alderman - District I Peter D. Lentz

Ralph R. Tomczyk
Deputy Treasurer

Laura L. Mecha
Following the seating of the newly elected Alderman for the 3rd
District, Daniel Hilt, brief comments were made by him and the
other newly elected officials expressing appreciation to their
constituents for their support.
ELECTION. OF COUNCIL,PRESIDENT
City Clerk Stewart and Deputy Clerk Marenda acted as ballot
clerks.
On the nominating ballot the following votes were cast: Ald.
Tomczyk - 4; Ald. DeAngelis - 2; Ald. Penovich - 1.
On the first election ballot the following votes were cast:
Ald. Tomczyk - 5; Ald. DeAngelis - 1; Ald. Penovich - 1. Ald.
Tomczyk was elected President of the Common Council.

On the nominating ballot the following votes were cast:
Ald. Nilsson - 6; Ald. DeAngelis - 1.
On the first election ballot, Ald. Nilsson received 7 votes, and
was unanimously elected to serve as Council Reuresentative to the
Common Council
