ccm19821028COMMON COUNCIL MEETING OF THE WHOLE - CITY OF BlUSKECO OCTOBER 28, 1982 The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the proposed 1983 city budget. The meeting was called to order at 7:06 P.M. by Chairman Mayor Salentine. Also present were Aldermen Dunke, Xilsson, Penovich, Treba, Colburn and Klenz and City Clerk Stewart. Colburn moved to reduce Acct. ?52000-1116, Police Dept., Training, was for an officer to attend the FBI Academy, of which Sl7,OOO.OO is by $600.00. Seconded by Ald. Penovich. It was pointed out this amount vote on Ald. Colburn's motion, Aldermen Colburn and Penovich voted "aye". given by the FBI, the course being for eleven weeks. Upon a roll call Aldermen Klenz, Dumke, Nilsson and Treba voted "no". The motion lost. Ald. Colburn moved to increase Acct. #52000-1112, Dispatchers Overtime, from $3,000.00 to $4,000.00. Seconded by Ald. Klenz. Upon roll call the motion carried unanimously. Ald. Colburn moved to decrease Acct. #57100, Library, by $5,000.00. Seconded by Ald. Penovich. Considerable discussion took place between grant money from the Waukesha County Federated Library System relates several of the aldermen and the Library Director as to how the to the Library portion of the city budget. Upon a roll call vote on Ald. Colburn's motion. Ald. Colburn and Penovich voted "aye". Aldermen Klenz, Dumke, Nilsson and Treba voted "no". The motion did not carry. Ald. Colburn moved to reduce the various salary accounts as follows: Police Department $ 19,572.00 Bldg. Inspection 21,977.42 Public Works Dept. 16,083.83 Recreation Dept. 2,450.63 City Clerk's Office 3,650.00 Total amount to be 563,734.00. Seconded by Ald. Penovich. Following considerable discussion on Ald. Colburn's motion as it related to the Aldermen Dumke, Treba, Nilsson and Klenz voted "no" laying off of personnel, Ald. Colburn and Ald. Penovich voted "aye". . The motion did not carry. The meeting adjourned at 11:OO P.M. Ald. Klenz moved to adjourn. Seconded by Ald. Nilsson. Motion carried.
