CONMON COUNCIL
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JULY 27, 1982
The meeting was called to order at 9:00 P.M. By Mayor Salentine. Also
present were Aldermen Colburn, Klenz, Nilsson, Penovich and Treba,
City Attorney Molter and City Clerk Stewart. Ald. Dumke was absent.
Resolution #152-82 - Recognizing the Services of Muskego Police
Officer, Steven Kukowski. Ald. Klenz moved for adoption. Seconded
by Ald. Treba. Officer Kukowski appeared at the meeting to accept
eight year old boy from drowning in a pond in the Durham Dr. area.
Mayor Salentine commended Officer Kukowski for his service. Upon a
roll call vote the motion to adopt Resolution #152-82 carried unanimously.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Ald. Klenz moved to approve the minutes of the
previous meeting held 7/13/82 and to place same on file. Seconded by
Ald. Tomczyk. Upon roll call the motion carried unanimously.
COMMITTEE REPORTS - Ald. Penovich presented the report of the meeting
held 7/21/62 and moved that same be accepted and placed on file.
Seconded by Ald. Klenz. Upon roll call the motion carried unanimously.
Ald. Colburn presented the report of the Public Works Committee meeting
Seconded by Ald. Penovich. Motion carried.
meeting held 7/22/82 and moved that same be accepted and placed on
Ald. Treba presented the report of the Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee
file. Seconded by Ald. Klenz. Motion carried.
The minutes of the Plan Commission meeting held 7/20/82 were accepted
and placed on file.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
a signed resolution commending him for his rescue of an autistic
, held 7/22/82 and moved that same be accepted and placed on file.
Resolution #144-82, As Amended - Consideration of Proposal for hlunicipal
Justice's Salarv and Number of Court Dates Per Month. (This resolution

is on the floor-and was deferred from meeting held 7/13/82). Ald. Klenz
moved to amend the fourth paragraph and the last paragraph as follows:
"WHEREAS, the Finance Committee feels that an increase in the number
of court dates per month would warrant an increase in salary in the
amount of $125.00 per court date for the three additional court dates,"
and, "THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City
of Muskego, does hereby establish the number of court dates per month
at five dates and that the salary of the Municipal Justice be increased
to $650.00 per month ($125.00 for each new court session and $275.00
for the present. t.wn sessions) effective immediatelv and until December
31, 1982." Upon a roll call vote on the motion to further amend
Resolution #144-82, Aldermen Klenz, Nilsson and Treba voted "aye".
Aldermen Colburn, Penovich and Tomczyk voted "no" . There being a tie
vote, Mayor Salentine voted "aye". The motion to amend carried.
Upon a roll call vote on the motion to adopt Resolution #144-82, As
Colburn, Penovich and Tomczyk voted "no" Amended, Aldermen Klenz, Nilsson and Treh voted "aye". Aldermen . There being a tie vote,
Mayor Salentine voted "aye". The motion to adopt Resolution #144-82,
As Amended, carried.
Resolution #132-82 - Acceptance of Low Bid for Well Installation in
Bluhm Park (This resolution is on the floor and was deferred from the
meeting of 6/22/82 for further review) (Bid was awarded to Egofski-
Porter in the amount of $2,054.00) Upon a roll call vote the motion
to adopt carried unanimously.

0 Resolution #148-82 - Denial of Rezoning Request ( Heritage Park, Inc.)
Ald. Treba moved for adoption. Seconded by Ald. Tomczyk. City Attorney -, Molter advised that he felt all aspects of^ the zoning request had not
been reviewed by the Plan Commission. He indicated that because the
city is in violation of the present new discharge rules that further
the DNR. Ald. Colburn moved to defer action on Resolution #148-82 for
information should be obtained from the city's consulting engineers and
the purpose of referred same back to the Plan Commission for further
study. Seconded by Ald. Nilsson. Upon roll call the motion carried
unsninlously.

VOUCHER UPROVAL - bld. Klenz moved for the approval of general
vouchers in the amount of $201,430.19. Seconded by Ald. Penovich.
Motion carried upon roll call.
Ald. Klenz moved for the approval of sewer utility vouchers in the
amount of $19,477.90. Seconded by Ald. Tomczyk. Upon roll call
the motion carried unanimously.
COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS - Ald. Colburn moved to
set the Dublic hearing date for proposed zoning amendments
relating-to trailers ?or August 24,- 1982 at 7:25 P.M. Seconded by
Ald. Penovich. Motion carried.
APPOINTMENT OF MEUBEH TO DOAHD OF COUMISSIONEltS (Little Muskego
Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District). Ald. Tomczyk moved
to nominate Robert Klenz. Seconded by A1d:Nilsson. Ald, Penovich
moved to nominate Charles Colburn. The motion lost for lack of a
seconded. Upon a roll call vote the motion to hove Itobert Klenz
as commissioner to the Little Muskego Lake Protection ond Rehnb-
ilitution District carried unu,nimouuly.
ADJOURNMENT - Ald. Penovich moved to adjourn. Seconded by Ald.
Nilsson. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned nt 10:50 P.M.
