MINUTES OF MEETING HELD APRIL 27, 1982
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Salentine at 8:05 P.M.
Also present were Aldermen Klenz, Colburn, Dunke, Nilsson,
Penovich and Tomczyk, City Clerk Stewart and City Attorney
Molter.
Ald. Klenz moved for approval of the minutes of the Council
meeting held April 13, 1982. Seconded by Ald. Penovich. Upon a
roll call vote the motion carried unanimously. e
Ald. Penovich presented the reports of the Finance Committee
meetings held 4/22/82 and 4/27/82 and moved that same be accepted
and placed on file. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, and upon a roll call
vote the motion carried unanimously.
Ald. Klenz presented the report of the Public Sewer Committee
meeting held 4/19/82 and moved that same be accepted and placed
on file. Seconded by Ald. Tomczyk. Upon a roll call vote the
motion carried unanimously.
The minutes of the Plan Commission meeting held 4120182 were
received and placed on file.
Ald. Klenz moved for approval of the minutes of the organizational
meeting held April 20, 1982. Seconded by Ald. Tomczyk. Motion
carried.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Resolution 1/56-82 - Renewal of Agreement and Fees for Inspection
and Zoning Services for the Village of Big Bend (This resolution
was on the floor and was deferred to be reviewed by the Finance
Committee). Upon roll call the motion to adopt carried unanimously.
Ordinance #424 - An Ordinance to Amend Ch. 9 of the Municipal
Code. The Clerk gave the second reading. Because of concerns
expressed regarding the portion involving drinking in public
places and mini-bikes, Ald. Penovich moved to defer action to
give the new Rules, Laws and Ordinance Cormnittee an opportunity

Resolution #70-82 - Authorizing City Clerk to re-bid for
Janitorial Services for City Hall, Library and Police Buildings.
Ald. Penovich moved for adoption. Ald. Dumke seconded the motion.
Ald. Klenz requested bidders to be instructed to meet deadline.
Mayor Salentine advised J & J Cleaning Service has agreed to
continue their services until new bid accepted. Upon roll call

City Attorney Don Molter introduced himself for the new members
a Mayor Salentine announced the-deadline to submit applications
to fill the vacancy of 6th District alderman was May 4th.
Interviews will be conducted by the Common Council on May 11, 1982
Mayor Salentine requested the Chairman of each comittee to
prepare agendas and submit to the Deputy Clerk the week prior
to the scheduled meeting.
Mayor Salentine stated that the unwritten rule regarding public
participation at Council meetings would continue, except that
any alderman can request permission from the aldermen for any
citizen to speak.

Ald. Klenz reported that a dinner meeting of the League of
Municipalities would be held on May 19, 1982.
Ald. Dumke reported that he had met with residents of Freedom
Acres regarding sewers, and discussion would continue at the
next Public Sewer Committee meeting.
