MINUTES OF MEETING HELD APRIL 28, 1981

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Jerome Gottfried at 7:55 P.M.
Also present were Aldermen Steinberg, renovich. Radtke, Klenz, Knudsen,
Salentine and Dumke, City Clerk Stewart and City Attorney Molter.
Ald. Dumke moved to approve the minute. of the la.t regular meeting
held 4/14/81 and the Organizational meeting held 4/21/81 and to have
same placed on file. Seconded by Ald. Xlenz. Upon a roll call vote
the motion carried unanimously.
Ald. Radtke pre.ented the report of the rinance Committee meeting held
4/22/81 and moved that .... be accepted and placed on file. Seconded
by Ald. Penovich. Upon a roll call vote the motion carried unanimously.
Ald. Salentine ~resented the' report of the Finance Committee meeting
held 4/28/81 and moved that lame be accepted and placed on file. Seconded by Ald. Radtke. Motion carried.
Followingcon.iderable discussion regarding the matter of the ingres.
and egress at the HUlkego B~er and ~iquor .tore on Janesville Road,
the minutel of the Plan Commission meetinl held 4/21/81 were received
and placed on file. .
COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE MAYOR'S OFFICE -
The Clerk read Mayor Gottfried)proclamation proclaiming Hay, 1981
as "Poppy Month" and the week of May 18th to Hay 25th as "American
Legion Poppy Week" in the City of MUlk_go.
Mayor Gottfried advised the following committee apP01ntments:
Finance: Aldermen Dumke, Radtke, and Salentine
Public Works Committee: Aldermen Dumke, Chm" Penovich and Klenz
Rules, Laws & Ord. Committee: Aldermen Salentine, Chm., Radtke and
Knudsen
Public Safety Committee: Ald. KnudsenJ Chm, Klenz and Steinberg
Public Welfare Committee: Aldermen Wayne Radtke, Chm., Penovich and
Steinberg
Public Sewer Committee: Aldermen Salentine, Chm., Dumke and Klenz

Resolution #60-81 - Authorizing Approval of an Errors and Omissions
Insurance Policy. Ald. Radtke moved for adoption. Seconded by Ald.
Dumke. (Internatioanal Surplu. Line. In.urance Co. - $1,189.00 Per
Year). Upon roll call the motion to adopt carried unanimously.
Resolution 161-81 - Approval of Agreement Between Pitney Bowe. and
the City for Ha1íing Machine Maintenance. Ald. Salentine moved for
adoption. Seconded by Ald. Klenz. ($149.00 Per Vear). Upon roll
call the motion carried unanimously.

Resolution 162-81 - Acceptance of Hilh Bid-for Tree Removal. in the
Tess Corrter.. Dra1~8e' Project Area. (I. J.. Salentine - $850.00)
Ald. Radtke moved for adoption. Seconded by Ald. Knud.en. Ald.- Dumke
moved to amend the relolution by. add1nlth. following paragraph:
"Be it furtherr..olved that this acceptance i. lubjectto the closing
of the sale of the property between the city and the seller (Kurth)".
Seconded by Ald. Steinberg. The motion to amend carried. Upon a roll
call vote on the motion to adopt ae.o1ution #62-81, As Amended, the
motion carried unanimously.

Department. Ald. Dumke moved for adoption. Seconded by Ald. Klenz.
Upon a roll call vote the motion to adopt carried unanimously.
Resolution #65-81 - Ãpproval of Appointment of Weed Commission for
the City of Huskego (W. Bertram). Ald. Salentine moved for adoption.
Seconded by Ald. Knudsen. Upon roll call the motion carried unanim-
ously.

Resolution 4166-81 - Approval of Appointment of Citizen Uembers to
Board of Appeals (Smet, Ellery, Rutzen and Phipps). Ald. Klenz mov~d
for adoption. Seconded by Ald. Radtke. In response to Ald. Knudsen's
request that the aldermen be permitted to submit new names for possibl~
appointments to boards and commissions, Mayor Gottfried adviæd the
present appointees have served the city with distinction, have given
of their time without compensation and therefore he saw no need for
a change. Upon a roll call vote on the motion to adopt Resolution
#66-81 the motion carried unanimously.
Resolution #67-81 - Approval of Appointment of Citizen Members to Plan
Commission (J. Schmidt and E. Raimann). Ald. Klenz moved for adoption.
Seconded by Ald. Salentine. Upon roll call the motion carried unan-
imously.
Resolution #68-81 - Appointment of Members to Police and Fire Commis-
sion (Marsha Swarthout). Ald. Dumke moved for adoption. Seconded
by Ald. Klenz. Upon roll call the motion carried unanimously.
Resolution #69-81 - Appointment ,of Alderman to Parks & Recreation
Board (M. Penovich). Ald. Dumke moved for adoption. Seconded by
Ald. Knudsen. Upon roll call the motion carried unanimously.
Resolution #70-81 - Appointment of Alderman to Library Board CR.
Knudsen). Ald. Penovich moved for adoption. Seconded by Ald. Stein-
berg. Upon roll call the motion to adopt carried unanimously.
Resolution #11-81 - Appointment of Member to Board of Review (H. Brode1)
Ald. Salentine moved for adoption. Seconded by Ald. Klenz. Upon
roll call the motion carried unanimously.
Resolution #72-81 - Appointment of Citizen Member to Park & Recreation
Board (R ~rowood). Ald. Dumke moved for adoption. Seconded by Ald.
Penovich. Upon roll call the motion carried unanimously.
Resolution #73-81 - Authorizing Execution of Closing Statement (~urth
Property - Tess Corners Drainage Project). Ald. Dumke moved for
adoption. Seconded by Ald. Knudsen. Upon a roll call vote the motion
carried unanimously.
Ordinance #408 - The Clerk gave the first reading of same, entitled,
An Ordinance to Rezone Certain Property and to Amend the Zoning Map
of the City of Huakego (Re: Durham Truck & Auto ~ Pelzak)
VOUCHER APPROVAL - Ald. Dumke moved for the approval of payment of
vouchers in the amount of $101,441.56. Seconded by Ald. Radtke. r10tio~

LICENSE APPROVAL - Ald. Salentine moved for the approval of Operator's
Licenses for Lynn Pirt and Robin Harenda subject to receipt of favor-
able poltce reports. Seconded by Ald. Radtke. Motion carried.
ADJOURNMiNT - Ald. Klenz moved to adjourn. Seconded by Ald. Radtke.
