ccm19810421COMMON COUNCIL CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING HELD APRIL 21, 1981 The meeting was called to order by Mayor Jerome Gottfried at 7:lO PM Also present were Aldermen Dumke, Steinberg, Radtke, Salentine and Knudsen, City Clerk Stewart and City Attorney Molter. Aldermen Weed and Van Lanen were absent. Mayor Gottfried commended the outgoing aldermen Van Lanen and Weed on their faithful attendance at meetings and for the dedication shown in their duties as aldermen. He then introduced the Honorable Judge Harry Snyder, of Branch 1 of Waukesha County, who administered the Oath of Office to the following city officials a a Alderman Mitchel Penovich - District I1 Alderman Robert Klenz - District IV Alderman Wayne Salentine - District VI Alderman Edwin P. Dumke - District VI1 Following congratulatory remarks from Judge Snyder, the newly elected aldermen were seated Aldermen Penovich and Klenz both thanked the v~ters of their respective districts for electing them to office Mayor and members of the Common Council during the two-year term. and both indicated it was their hope to work cooperatively with the NEW BUSINESS Resolution #58-81 - The Clerk read same, entitled, Expressing Appreciation to Michael B. Weed Ald Dumke moved for adoption. Seconded by Ald. Penovich Upon roll call the motion carried unanimously. Resolution #59-81 - The Clerk read same, entitled, Expressing Appreciation to Thomas J Van Lanen. Ald. Dumke moved for adoption Seconded by Ald. Klenz. Upon roll call the motion carried unan- imous ly . a ELECTION OF COUNCIL PRESIDENT City Clerk Stewart and Deputy Clerk Elger acted as ballot clerks. On the nominating ballot Ald. Knudsen received 3 votes, Alderman Dumke received 3 votes and Ald Radtke received one vote. On the first election ballot Ald. Dumke received 4 votes and Ald. Knudsen received 3 votes. Ald Dumke was voted to be President of the Common Council. He accepted the position and thanked the aldernlen for their vote of confidence. a ELECTION OF COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE TO THE PLAN COMMISSION On the nominating ballot Ald. Klenz received 4 votes,-Ald Knudsen received 2 votes and Ald. Salentine received one vote, On the first election baliot Ald. Klenz received 5 votes and Ald. Knudsen received 2 votes As 2/3 vote of the Council members are necessary to be elected to Plan Commission (5 votes), Ald. Klenz was elected to serve as Council Representative to the Plan Commission. Ald. Klenz accepted the position. ADJOURNMENT - Ald. Dumke moved to adjourn. Seconded by Ald. Radtke. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 7:50 P.M. e Respectfully submitted, Charlotte L.
