MINUTES OF ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING HELD APRIL 15, 1980
me meeting was .called to order at 7 17 P.M. by Mayor Jerome J.
Gottfried. Also present were Aldermen Dumke, Weed, Van Lanen, Ford:
Tomczyk and Salentine, Deputy Clerk June Elger and Attorney Donald
Molter .
At this time the Honorable Judge John Buckley of Branch 8, Waukesha'
County, administered the Oath of Office to the following city officials:

Jerome J. Gottfried - Mayor
Charlotte L. Stewart - City Clerk-Comptroller
Jean A. Sanders
Paul M. DeAngelis
- City Treasurer - City Assessor
Alderman Kenneth G. Steinberg District I
Alderman Richard M. Knudsen - District V
Alderman Wayne Radtke - District I11
Judge Buckley congratulated all of the new elected officials and
indicated that after serving as the city's attorney for 13 years he
was happy to return for this important occasion.
The newly elected aldermen and City Clerk Elect were then seated at
newly elected aldermen the meeting proceeded with the business at hand.

Clerk Elect Stewart, Deputy Clerk June Elger and Sun Reporter Vi Joyacted
as Ballot Clerks.
On the nominating ballot Ald. Dumke received 3 votes, Ald. Salentine
received 2 votes and Ald. Knudsen and Van Lanen each received 1 vote.
On the 1st election ballot through the 36th ballot Ald. Dumke received
3 votes, Ald. Salentine received 3 votes and Ald. Van Lanen received 1
vote. At 8:03 Mayor Gottfried declared a recess and the meeting
reconvened at 8:16 P.M. On the 37th ballot Ald. Dumke received 3 votes,
Ald.Salmt&received 3 votes and Ald. Van Lanen received 1 vote. Ald.
Dumke then moved to recess the meeting until April 22nd at 7 30 P M
Aldermen Dumke, Radtke, Steinberg and Weed voted "aye". Aldermen
Seconded by Ald Weed. Upon a roll call vote on the motion to recess
Knudsen, Salentine and Van Lanen voted "no". The motion to recess
until the 22nd at 7:30 P M carried.
On April 22nd, at 7:40 P.M , the Organizational Meeting reconvened.
On the 38th ballot Alderman Edwin P. Dumke was unanimously voted as
President of the Common Council He accepted the position and thanked
the aldermen for their vote of confidence.

ELECTION OF COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE TO THE PLAN COMMISSION
On the nominating ballot Ald. Knudsen received 3 votes, Ald. Salentine '
received 3 votes and Ald Weed received 1 vote.
On the election ballots No 1 to 83, Ald Salentine received 4 votes,
Ald Knudsen received 3 votes Ald Knudsen requested his fellow alder-
men who voted for him to support Ald. Salentine. On the 4th election
ballot Ald. Salentine received 6 votes and Ald Knudsen received 1 vote.
As 2/3 vote of the Council members are necessary (5), Ald Salentine
was e1ected.to serve as Council Representative to the Plan Commission.
Ald. Salentine accepted the position.
ADJOURNMENT - Ald. Weed moved to adjourn. Seconded by Ald. Steinberg.
