'0 MINUTES OF MEETIhG HELD APRIL 24, 1979
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Jerome Gottfried at 7:35 P.M.
Also present were Aldermen Pienkos, Tomczyk, Van Lanen, Dumke, Salentine
and Weed. Ald. Ford was absent.

received and will be placed on file.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Ald. Dumke presented the minutes of the Finance Committee meeting held
4/18/79 and moved that same be accepted and placed on file. Seconded
by Ald Weed. Motion carried
Ald. Tomczyk presented the report'of the Pubic Works Committee meeting
held 4/19/79 and moved that same be accepted and placed on file.
Seconded by Ald. Dumke. Motion carried.
Ald. Tomczyk presented the report of the Rules, Laws & Ordinance
Committee meeting held 4/11/79 and moved that same be accepted and
placed on file. Seconded by Ald. Pienkos. Motion carried.
Ald. Pienkos presented the report of the Public Safety Committee
meeting held 4/11/79 and moved that same be accepted and placed on file.
Seconded by Ald. Tomczyk. Motion carried. Motion carried.
The minutes of the Plan Commission meeting held 4/17/79 were received
and placed on file.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
An Ordinance to Amend the Zoning District Map of the City of Muskego
Ordinance $1370 - The Clerk gave the second reading of same, entitled,
for adoption. Seconded by Ald Salentine Ald Dumke moved to
(R-1 and R-2 to RS-2 and A - Lake Denoon Area). Ald. Dumke moved
amend Ordinance a370 by adding the following the Section 1 "and
. that the Hellie Brodel property in the SE 114 of the SW 114 of
Section 31 and all that portion of the SW 114 of the SE 1/4 of
by Ald. Salentine. Upon a roll call vote the motion to amend Ordinance
Section 31 presently zoned R-1 be rezoned to Agricultural." Seconded

Ordinance 8371 - The Clerk Gave the second reading of same, entitled,
An Ordinance to Amend the Zoning District Map of the City of Muskego
Seconded by Ald. Weed. Upon roll call the motion carried unanimously

COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE MAYOR'S OFFICE
The Clerk read Mayor Gottfried's proclamation urging the citizens of
the city to support the fund raising project of the Electronic Realty
Associates to help in the fight against muscular dystrophy to be
held on May 5 and 6, 1979.
The Clerzflayor Gottfried's proclamation proclaiming the month of

At this time Mayor Gottfried made the following appointment to the
standing committees of the Common Council:

Mayor Gottfried advised it is his intent to appoint a committee to
evaluate the question of whether or not it would be economically
feasible to expand the city-owned industrial park. He further advised
he is also appointing a citizens committee to study the question of
whether or not those elected offices of Assessor, City Clerk and
Treasurer should be appointed rather than elected and at the same
also conduct informal hearings and discussions at various local groups
time evaluate the salaries of aldermen and mayor. The committee will

Mayor Gottfried also indicated it is his intent to appoint a committee

NEW BUSINESS
Resolution #72-79 - The Clerk read same, entitled, Authorizing the Ad-
vertising for the Position of Humane Officer. Ald. Tomczyk moved for - adoption. Seconded by Ald. Weed. Ald. Pienkos advised that his reason
for voting "no" on recommending Resolution #72-79 to the Council was he
felt there was a need for the Safety Committee to look at other options.
He urged his fellow aldermen to defeat this resolution. Upon a roll
call vote on the motion to adopt Resolution 872-79, Aldermen Dumke,
Salentine, Tomczyk and Weed voted "aye". Aldermen Pienkos and Van Lanen
voted "no". The motion to adopt carried.
Resolution 1/73-79 - The Clerk read same, entitled, Approval of Certified
Survey Map (Don Schroeder). Ald. Salentine moved for adoption. Seconded
by Ald. Tomczyk. Upon a roll call vote the motion carried unanimously.
Resolution 874-79 - The Clerk read same, entitled, Denial of Legal Lot
Status (C. Youssi - Muskego Shores Subdivision). Ald. Salentine moved
for adoption. Seconded by Ald. Tomczyk. Upon roll call the motion to
adopt carried unanimously.
Resolution #75-79 - The Clerk read same, entitled, Setting Public Hearing
Date for Rezoning Request - H. Herdeman - Lake Denoon Area). Ald. Sal-
entine moved for adoption. Seconded by Ald. Pienkos. Public Hearing
carried unanimously.
Resolution $176-79 - The Clerk read same, entitled, Resolution to Become

to suspend the rules that would interfere with the adoption of same.
Seconded by Ald. Dumke. Upon roll call vote the motion to suspend

vouchers in the amount of $499,289.07. Seconded by Ald Tomczyk.
Upon roll call the motion to pay the vouchers carried unanimously.

COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS
The Clerk read a comunication directed to Mayor Gottfried, signed
G.J.S., commending Police Department and Public Works Department
for excellent service. Same placed on file.
ADJOURNMENT - Ald. Pienkos moved to adjourn. Seconded by Ald.
Van Lanen. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 9:00 P.M.
