COMMON COUNCIL
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JANUARY 9, 1979
The meeting was called to order at 7 35 P,M. by Mayor Gottfried. Also
Lanen and Wallner, City Attorney Buckley and City Clerk Bowyer.
Ald. Schaumberg moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting
held 12/27/79, as mailed. Seconded by Ald Tomczyk Motion carried
present were Aldermen Dumke, Ford, Tomczyk, Schaumberg, Pienkos , Van
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Ald. Schaumberg presented the reports of the Finance Committee meetings
held January 3, 1979 and January 9, 1979 and moved that same be accepted
and placed on file Seconded by Ald. Dumke. Motion carried
Ald. Tomczyk presented the report of the Public Works Cornittee
meeting held on 1/4/79 and moved that same be accepted and placed on
file Seconded by Ald Schaumberg, motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS
Resolution 1/1-79 - The Clerk read same, entitled, Approval of Rescue
Department. Ald Pienkos moved for adoption Seconded by Ald.
Contract Between City of Muskego and Tess Carners Volunteer Fire
Wallner (Contract effective 2/15/79 and payment increasedfrom $50 to
$60). Upon a roll call vote the motion carried unanimously
Resolution #2-79 - The Clerk read same, entitled, Establishing Fees
For Rescue Service ($60.00 - effective 2/15/79). Ald. Schaumberg
moved for adoption Seconded by Ald. Pienkos . Upon roll call the
motior. carried unanimously.
Resolution 1/3-79 - The Clerk read same, enti.tled, Acceptance of LOW
Bid for 1979 Model Squad Cars. Ald. Dumke moved for adoption Sec-
onded by Ald Schaumberg (Low bid to E. J Salentine - net cost
$28,049 00) Upon roll call the mction to adopt carried unanimously
Resolution $14-79 - The Clerk read same, entitled, Setting Public
moved for adoption. Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg A1.d Ford moved to Hearing Date for Rezoning Request (R-1 and R-2 to RS-2). Ald Dumke
amend the 6th paragraph, first line, but char~ging the word "west" to
"east". Seconded by Ald. Tomczyk Upon a voice vote the motion
carried. Upon a roll call vote the motior. to adopt Resolution 1/4-79
As Amended, carried unanimously (Public Hearing Date to be 2/27/79 at
7 00 P ,M.)
Resolution 85-79 - The Clerk read same, entitled, Authorizing Street
Name Change (Marlan Drive to East Drive). Ald. Tomczyk moved for
adoption Seconded by Ald. Ford. Upon a roll call vote the motion
carried unanimously.
Resolution #6-79 - The Clerk read same, entitled, Authorizing Instal-
lation of Street Lights at Various Intersections in the City Ald
Dumke moved for adoption. Seconded by Ald Tomczyk. Ald Van Lanan e ' moved to defer action on Resolution #6-79 until the location of the
Cornittee. Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg. Upon a roll call vote to
street light j.nstal1ation.s could be reviewed by the Public Safety
defer action on this resolution for two weeks the motion carried
unanimously.

Resolution #7-79 - The Clerk read same, entitled, Denial of Claim of
Aldermen Ford and Van Lanen voting no".
Schaumberg. Upon a roll call vote to adopt the motion carried with
VOUCHER APPROVAL - Ald Schaumberg moved to pay vouchers in the amount
of $2,000 .OO (ditch bonds). Seconded by Ald. Dumke. Upon a roll call
vote the motion to pay the voucherscarried..
LICENSE APPROVAL - Ald. Schaumberg moved for the approval of a
20and 21, 1979. Seconded by Md. Tomczyk. Motion carried.
"Gathering" Permit for Little Muskego Lake Association for January
Ald Schaumberg moved for the a.pprova1 of Operator's Li.censes for
Gordon Switalski and Terrv Burton. Seconded by Ald. Pienkos, motion
Ann Alewinski. Ald. Dumke moved for adoption. Seconded by Ald.

CITY OFFICIAL'S REPORTS The Clerk read the Building Report for the
month of December, 1978, indicating one new dwelling and total con-
struction in the amount of $41,010.00 for that month. Report placed
on file.
COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS - In answer to a question
from Mayor Gottfried regarding the qualifications for candidates
running for city offices, City Attorney Buckley clarified the question of resldency .
Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 8:21 P.M.
ADJOURNMENT - Ald. Pienkos moved to adjourn. Seconded by Aid. Tomczyk
