I I MINUTES OF ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING HELD APRIL 18, 1978
Gottfried. Also present were Aldermen Dumke, Ford, Schaumberg, Pienkos,
The meeting was called to order at 7 25 P.M. by by Mayor Jerome J.
Wallner, Tornczyk and Van Lanen and City Clerk Bette J. Bowyer.
At this time Mayor Gottfried introduced Waukesha County Judge Neal P.
Nettesheim who administered the Oath of Office to the newly elected
officials of the city. They are as follows

City Treasurer Jean A. Sanders
Municipal Justice Richard E. Wittbrot
City Assessor Paul I!. DeAngelis
Alderman Ronald J. Ford - District I11
Alderman Mark E. Pienkos - District I
Alderman Ralph R. Tomczyk - District V

ELECTION OF COUNCIL PRESIDENT - On the nominating ballot for Council
President, Ald. Schaumberg received three (3) votes, Ald. Pienkos
received two (2) votes, Ald. Van Lanen received one (1) vote and Ald.
Ford received (1) vote. On the first official ballot, Ald. Schaurnberg
received three (3) votes, Ald. Pienkos received two (2) votes, Ald.
Van Lanen received one (1) vote and Ald. Ford received one (1) vote.
On the second ballot, Ald. Schaumberg received four (4) votes, Ald
Pienkos received three (3) votes. Ald. Schaumberg accepted the position
of President of the Common Council.
ELECTION OF COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE TO PLAN COMMISSION - On the
nominating ballot for Plan Commission representative, Ald. Durnke
received four (4) votes, Ald. Wallner received one (1) vote and Ald.
Van Lanen received two (2) votes. Ald. Pienkos moved to have the
official balloting be taken by voice vote. Seconded by Ald. Van Lanen.
Upon a roll call vote the motion carried with Ald. Dumke casting a
dissenting vote. On the first official ballot, Aldermen Durnke
received five (5) votes, Ald. Van Lanen received one (1) vote and
Ald. Pienkos received one (1) vote. As five votes are two-thirds of
the Common Council, Ald. Dumke was elected to act as representative to
the Plan Commission. Ald. Dumke thanked the aldermen for their support
and accepted the position.
Mayor Gottfried advised that he would be making his appointments to
the standing committees of the Council at the first meeting in May
ADJOURNMENT - Ald. Pienkos moved to adjourn, seconded by Ald. Wallner.
Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 8 10 P.M.
