MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MAY 24, 1077
present were Aldermen Dumke, Constantineau, Pienkos, Schaumberg and Van
The meeting was called to order at 7:42 P.M. by Mayor Gottfried. Also
Lanen. Ald. Ford was absent and Ald. Wallner arrived at 7:52 P.M.
City Attorney John Bcckley and City Clerk Bowyer were also present.
Ald. Schaumberg moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting
held May 10, 1977. Seconded by Ald. Constantineau, motion carried.

Ald. Dumke presented the report of Public Works Committee meeting held
on May 19, 1977, and moved that the report be accepted and placed on
file. Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, motion carried.
Ald. Van Lanen presented the report of the Public Welfare Cohittee
meeting held on May 17, 1977, and moved that the report be accepted
and placed on file. Seconded by Ald. IVallner, motion carried.
Ald. Pienkos presented the report of the Public Safety Committee meeting
he1.d on May 19, 1977, and moved that the report be accepted and placed
on file. Seconded by Ald. Van Lanei, motion carried.
Ald. Constantineau presented the report of the Public Sewer Committee
meet!.ng held May 16, 1977, and moved that same be accepted an$ placed
on file. Seconded by Ald. Wallner, motion carried.
The minutes of the Plan Commission meeting held May 17, 1977, were
acknowledge and placed on file.

COMMUNIC.4TIONS FROM THE MAYOR'S OFFICE - The Clerk read a proclamation
urging participation in the sale of Buddy Poppies by VFW.
:Jayor Gottfried advised that he has appointed the following Persons
to look i.nto the possibilities of establishing bicycle trails in the
Van Lanen. He indicated the first meeting would ~robab1.y be held within
city: Harold Sacders, Chairman, Linda Goll, Willard MasterSon and Aid.

Resolution #107-77 - The Cl.erk read same, entitled, Authorizing Execution
of Lease Agreement Between Richard Schs.umberg & Park* and Recreation
Board. 41d. Dumke moved for adoption, seconded by Ald. Constantineau. In answer to a question as to whether or not he planned to vote on thi's
resolution, Ald. Schaumberg requested permission of his fellow aldermen
to abstain from voting. As there were no objectfons, upon a roll call
vote to adopt Resolution #107-77, Aldermen Constanti'neau and Dumke
voted "aye", Aldermen Pienkos, Van Lanen and Wallner voted "no" and
Ald. Schaumberg abstained from voting. The motion to adopt Resolution
#107-77 did not carry.
Resolution #117-77 - The Clerk read same, entitled, Accepting Community
Newspapers, Inc. as the Official Newspaper of the City (Muskego Sun).
AM. Schaumberg moved for adoption, seconded by Ald. Wallner. Upon roll Call. the motion carried unanimously.

Status -(Frederick Gille). Ald. Constantineau moved for adoption,
Ald. Van Lanen casting a dissenting vote. seconded by Aid. Dumke. Upon a roll call vote the motion carried with

ied Survey Map (Henry Kurth). Ald. Constantineaq moved for adoption,
seconded by Ald. Dumke. Upon roll call the motion carried unanimously.
Resolution #124-77 - The Clerk read same, entitled, Abolishing the Part-
time Position of Inspection Clerk. Ald. Schaumberg moved for adoption,
seconded by Ald Dumke. A short diqcussion followed and.upon a roll
call vote the motion carried unanimously.
Resolution $125-77 - The Clerk read game, entitled, Creating Additional
Full-time Position of Receptionis -Typist 11. Ald. Dumke moved for
adoption, seconded by Ald. Schaumberg. Di6CUSSiOn followed during which
Mayor Gottfried advised that the person hired to fill the position would
work mornings for the Park and Recreation Department and for the In-
spection Department in the afternoons. Discusston took place as to
whether or not it would be more advantageous to hkre two pacttime
employees and upon a roll call vote to adopt Resolution #125-77 the
motion carried unanimously.
Resolution g126-77 - The Clerk read same, entitled, Transfer of Funds (Industrial Park Income to Industrial Park Promotion). Aid. Schaumberg
moved for adoption, seconded by Ald. Dumke. Ald. Pienkos moved to
defer action on Resolution $126-77 to give the Industrial Coordinating

CITY OFFICIAL'S REPORTS - The Clerk read the April, 1977 Building Report
indicating $1,124,849.00 total construction and 22 new dwelling units
for that month Report placed on file.
City Attorney Buckley reported on pending litigation with the City.
Schaumberg, motion carried.

COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS - City Clerk 'Bowyer read a
petition received from Mrs. Dorothy Rae requesting legal lot status
for three lots on Gold Drive in Section 4. Same referred to.Plan

Ald. Pienkos advised that the Welfare Commit'tee, will be bolding a
special meeting on Wednesday, June 1, 1977, at 6:30 P.M. to.discus8
the water situation in the City of Muskego. Also, that the regulpr
meetings of the Welfare Committee.vi11 be held on the Wednesday nights
following the Common Council.
