@ MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JANUARY 25, 1977
The meeting was called to order at 7:57 P.M. by Mayor Gottfried. Also
present were Aldermen Constantineau, Colburn, Ford, Dumke, Pienkos,
Schaumberg and Wallner, City Attorney John Buckley and City Clerk
0 Bette Bowyer.
Ald. Schaumberg moved for the approval of minutes of the previous
meeting held 1/11/77 and moved that they be accepted and placed on file.
Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried.
Ald. Schaumberg presented the reports of the Finance Committee meetings
held on 1120177 and 1/25/77 and moved that they be accepted and placed
on file. Seconded by Ald. Colburn, motion carried.
Ald. Pienkos presented the report of the Public Welfare Committee meeting
onded by Ald. Constantineau, motion carried.

held on 1/19/77 and moved that it be accepted and placed on file. Sec-

Ald Constantineau presented the report of the Rules, Laws & Ordinance
Committee meeting held on 1/12/77 and moved that it be accepted and
placed on file. Seconded by Ald. Pienkos, motion carried.
The minutes of the Plan Commission meeting held 1/18/77 were acknowledged
and placed on file.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Resolution #249-76 - Resolution Recommending Denial of Rezoning in
Section 5 (R. Knudsen) This resolution was on the floor and had been
deferred for two weeks. Ald. Colburn, Council representative to the
Plan Commission, advised that the Plan Commission had taken no action
on this resolution and that it is being sent back to Council with no
recommendation. Ald. Constantineau moved to defer action on Resolution
#249-76 for two weeks. Seconded by Ald. Wallner. Ald. Constantineau
requested permission of his fellow aldermen to have Mr. Knudsen speak.
As there were no objections, Mr. Knudsen asked that the Council defer
action on Resolution #249-76 for two weeks. A lengthy discussion
between the Mayor and several of the aldermen took place on the motion
to defer and upon a roll call vote the motion to defer carried
unanimously.
COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE MAYOR’S OFFICE
Mayor Gottfried advised that there will be a public hearing on the
proposed 1977 City of Muskego capital budget before the Common Council
on Tuesday, February 8, 1977, at 7.30 P.M. in the Council Chambers.

Inspectors and Clerks of Elections by Mayor, City of Muskego. Ald.

Resolution #14-77 - The Clerk read same, entitled, Setting Bond Sale
adoption, seconded by Ald. Dumke. Financial Consultant Seegar Swanson
for $1,310,000.00 Corporate Purpose Bonds. Ald. Colburn moved for

At 9:13 P.M. Mayor Gottfried declared a recess and the meeting recon-
vened at 9.20 P.M.
Resolution #17-77 - The Clerk read same, entitled, Establishing Rates
Paid to the Humane Officer for Services Rendered. Ald. Dumke moved
for adoption, seconded by Ald. Wallner. Upon roll call the motion
carried unanimously.
Resolution #18-77 - The Clerk read same, entitled, Authorizing Extension
of Hours for Position of Bookkeeper-Clerk. Ald. Schaumberg moved for
adoption, seconded by Ald. Pienkos. (Hours to be extended from 19 to
26). Upon a roll call vote the motion carried unanimously. i.4
Resolution #19-77 - The Clerk read same, entitled, Authorizing Reimburse-
ment for James Verburgt. Ald. Schaumberg moved for adoption, seconded i) by Ald. Dumke. ($100.00 for damage to snowmobile commandeered by Police
Dept.) Upon a roll call vote the motion to adopt carried unanimously.
VOUCHER APPROVAL - Ald. Schaumberg moved for the approval of payment
of general vouchers in the amount of $160,096.69 payable 1125177, Sec-
onded by Ald. Dumke . Upon a roll call vote the motion carried unanimously
LICENSE APPROVAL - Ald. Schaumberg moved for the approval of Operators
License for Patricia McHalsky. Seconded by Colburn, motion carried.

CITY OFFICIAL'S REPORTS - City Attorney Buckley reported on pending
litigation with the city.
COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS
The Clerk acknowledged receipt of a petition for legal lot status for
W175 S7014 Hiawatha Dr. Same referred to Plan Commission.
Ald. Colburn read a prepared statement concerning the Council's recent
action on Resolution #5-77, entitled, Directing the City Attorney to Amend
Ch. 12, Sec. 12.01(5)(c) of the Municipal Code to Increase the Number of
Class "B" Fermented Malt Beverage Licenses from 39 to 40. Ald. Colburn read a prepared statement requesting Mayor Gottfried to ask
of his candidacy as alderman of District IV. Mayor Gottfried indicated
that City Attorney Buckley submit a written opinion as to the legality
that he would do so.
