CITY OF MUSKEGO
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD DECEMBER 9, 1975

The meeting was called to order at 8:20 P.M. by Mayor Gottfried. Also
present were Aldermen Colbum, Dumke, Foldy, Ford, Knudsen, Schaumberg
and Wallner, City Attorney John P. Buckley and City Clerk Bette J. Bowyer.
Ald. Schaumberg moved for the approval of the minutes of the meeting held
11125175 and to have them placed on file. Seconded by Ald. Wallner, motion
carried.
l Ald. Schaumberg presented the report of the Finance Committee meeting held
on December 3, 1975 and moved that it be accepted and placed on file.
Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried.
Ald. Colbum presented the report of the Public Safety Committee meeting
held December 4, 1975, and moved that it be accepted and placed on file.
Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, motion carried.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Resolution i/241-75 - Approval of Operational & Development Plans of Wauer
l Sanitary Landfill. This resolution is on the floor and Ald. Knudsen moved
to again defer action on same for two weeks to have it further reviewed
by the Public Welfare Committee. Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, motion
carried.
NEW BUSINESS
Resolution $1260-75 - The Clerk read same, entitled, Extending the Deadline
Date for Partial Payment of 1975 Real Estate Taxes. Ald. Schaumberg
moved for adoption, seconded by Ald. Knudsen. Upon a roll call vote the
motion to adopt carried unanimously.
Resolution i/261-75 - The Clerk read same, entitled, Approval of Fire
Protection Contract With Muskego Volunteer Fire Company for the year 1976.
Ald. Ford moved for adoption, seconded by Ald. Wallner. Upon roll call
the motion to adopt carried unanimously.
Resolution $1262~75 - The Clerk read same, entitled, Approval of Fire
l Protection Contract With Tess Comers Volunteer Fire Department for
the year 1976. Ald. Foldy moved for adoption, seconded by Ald. Wallner.
Upon roll call the motion carried unanimously.
Resolution $1263-75 - The Clerk read same, entitled, Authorizing the
Renewal of Contract Between Associated Hospital Services and the City of
Muskego for the Year 1976. Ald. Schaumberg moved for adoption, seconded
by Ald. Foldy. Upon a roll call vote the motion to adopt Resolution i/263-75
carried unanimously.
Resolution $1264-75 - The Clerk read same, entitled, Authorizing Expenditure
of $35.00 for Historical Sign for Old Town Hall. Ald. Knudsen moved for
adoption, seconded by Ald. Wallner. Ald. Schaumberg moved to defer action
on said resolution in order that a member of the Historical Society could
appear before the Finance Committee to explain the exact nature of the sign.
Seconded by Ald. Knudsen. Upon a voice vote the motion to defer carried.

New business - cont'd.
Ordinance 11309 - The Clerk gave the first reading of Ordinance f/309,
entitled, Appropriating the Necessary Funds for the Operation of the
Government and Administration of the City of Muskego for the Year 1976.
Ald. Knudsen moved to suspend the rules that would interfere with the
adoption of Ordinance #309 at this meeting. Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg.
Upon a roll call vote the motion to suspend the rules carried unanimously.
01 The.Clerk gave the second reading of Ordinance $1309. Ald. Foldy moved
for adoption. Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg. At this time Mayor Gottfried
relinquished the Chair to explain to the aldermen that although the city
tax rate would remain as it was in 1974, the City of Muskego had been
notified by the State that it would receive a 43% reduction in state
credit in 1975 as compared to 1974. He further indicated that a request
would be made to the State to recalculate the formulas used and a printout
sent to the city to verify the amount. A letter of explanation to the
citizens would be sent indicating the adjusted total tax rate.
LICENSE APPROVAL - Ald. Schaumberg moved for the approval of an Operators

License for Flora C. Robinson. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried.
CITY OFFICIAL'S REPORTS - The Clerk gave the Building Report for the
month of November, 1975, which indicated total construction for that
month in the amount of $159,125.00 and three new dwelling units. Report
placed on file.
COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS -
A short discussion again took place regarding the city's reduction of
the state credit and it was decided to invite the city's representatives
James Devitt and James Rutkowski to a future Council meeting to discuss
the matter.
City Clerk Bowyer advised the Mayor and Aldermen that nomination papers
for the forthcoming election could be circulated beginning December 15,
1975, and must be filed by January 20, 1976, at 5:00 P.M. She requested
that all candidates register with her office prior to circulating papers.
l ADJOURNMENT - Ald. Knudsen moved to adjourn, seconded by Ald. Wallner,
motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 9:lO P.M.
