ccm19740416COMMON COUNCIL CITY OF MUSKEGO - a MINUTES OF ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING HELD APRIL 16, 1974 IN THE CITY HALL Mayor Gottfried called the meeting to order at 7:21 P.M. PRESENT - Mayor Jerome J. Gottfried, Aldermen Charles P. Foldy, Paul 3. Schaumberg, Ronald 3. Ford, Albert F. Czarnecki, Richard M. Knudsen, Raymond Wallner and Edwin Dumke. City Clerk Bette J. Bowyer was also present. Mayor Gottfried then introduced Waukesha County Judge FJilliam Callow. Judge Callow then administered the Oath of Office to the newly elected officials of the city. They are as follows: Mayor, Jerome J. Gottfried, City Clerk Comptroller Bette J. Bowyer, Treasurer Jean Sanders, Assessor Paul M. De- Angelis, Alderman Ward I, Charles P. Foldy, Alderman Ward III, Ronald J. Ford and Alderman Ward V, Richard M. Knudsen. Following the installation, Mayor Gottfried congratulated the city officials on their re-election and he offered comments as to his goals for the next two years. Following a brief statement from each official, Mayor Gottfried introduced Mr. Frank Narlock, newly elected member to the Waukesha County Board of Supervisors. Election of Council President - Mayor Gottfried appointed City Clerk Bette Bowyer to act as ballot clerk. The results of the nominating ballot were Schaumberg 3 votes, Foldy 1, Knudsen 2 and Czarnecki 1. As a majority vote (4 votes) were needed to elect a Council President, it was necessary to cast ballots eight times with the final result as follows: Ald. Paul Schaumberg 4 votes, Ald. Richard M. Knudsen 1 vote, Ald. Albert F. Czarnecki 1 vote and Ald. Charles P. Foldy 1 vote. Paul Schaumberg was elected to be President of the Common Council. Ald. Schaumberg accepted the position. Election of Council Representative to the Plan Commission - The results of the nominating ballot were Ald. Ron Ford, 3 votes, Raymond Wallner, 2 votes, Edwin Dumke, 1 vote and Ald. Richard Knudsen, 1 vote. As a three- fourths vote is needed to elect a representative to the Plan Commission (5 votes), it was necessary to cast ballots 26 times before Ald. Ron Ford received 5 votes, Ald. Charles Foldy received 1 vote and Edwin Dumke re- ceived 1 vote. Ald. Ford accepted the position of Council representative to the Plan Commission. Adjournment - Ald.
