MINUTES OF ORGANIEATION%EETING HELD APRIL 17, 1973
Mayor Gottfried called the meeting to order at 7~47 P.M.
Present were Mayor Gottfried, Aldermen Lois Cole, Harold DeBack, Edwin
Dumke, Charles Foldy, Ron Ford, Richard Knudsen and Paul Schaumberg.
Also present were City Clerk Bette Bowyer and City Attorney John Buckley.
As Aldermen Harold DeBack and Lois Cole were present for their final
meeting (both haven chosen not to seek re-election), Mayor Gottfried
gave favorable comments to both of these outgoing aldermen.
Following farewell comments from both Alderman DeBack and Alderman Cole,
City Attorney John Buckley administered the Oath of Office to newly
elected Aldermen Edwin Dumke, Ward VII, Paul Schaumberg, Ward II, Albert
F. Czarnecki, Ward IV and Raymond Wallner, Ward VI.
ELECTION OF THE COUNCIL PRESIDENT - On the nominating ballot for Council
President, Ald. Knudsen received 3 votes, Ald. Foldy received 3 votes and
Ald. Ford received one vote. The the election ballot, Ald. Foldy received
four votes, Ald. Knudsen received two votes and Ald. Ford received one
vote. Ald. Foldy accepted the position of President of the Common Council.
ELECTION OF COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE TO PLAN COMMISSION - On the nominating
ballot, Ald. Schaumberg received four votes, Ald. Ford received two votes
and Ald. Wallner received one vote. On the election ballot, Ald. Schaum-
berg received five votes, Ald. Ford received one vote and Ald. Knudsen
received one vote. Ald. Schaumberg accepted the position as Council
Representative to the Plan Commission.
RESOLUTION #59-73 - Ald. Foldy moved to suspend the rules that would
interfere with the adoption of same, entitled, Resolution Expressing
Appreciation to Lois Cole. Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg. Upon roll call
the motion to suspend the rules carried unanimously. The Clerk read the
resolution. Ald. Foldy moved for adoption, seconded by Ald. Schaumberg.
Upon roll call the motion to adopt carried unanimously.
RESOLUTION #58-73 - Ald. Foldy moved to suspend the rules that would
interfere with the adoption of same, entitled, Resolution Expressing
Appreciation to Harold DeBack. Seconded by Ald. Dumke. Upon roll call
the motion to suspend the rules carried unanimously. The Clerk read
the resolution. Ald. Schaumberg moved for adoption, seconded by Ald.
Ford. Upon roll call the motion to adopt carried unanimously.
ADJOURNMENT - Ald. Wallner moved to adjourn, seconded by Ald. Czarnecki.
Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 8:20 P.M.
