CITY OF MUSKEGO
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MARCH 13, 1973
Acting Mayor Charles Foldy called the meeting to order at 9:00 P.M.
PRESENT: Acting Mayor Foldy, Aldermen Lois Cole, Edwin Dumke, Harold
DeBack, Ron Ford, Richard Knudsen and Paul Schaumberg, City Clerk Bette
J. Bowyer and City Attorney John Buckley.
ABSENT: Mayor Jerome Gottfried.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Ald. Cole moved for the approval of minutes of the
previous meeting held on February 27, 1973, as mailed. Seconded by Ald.
DeBack, motion carried.
At this time Acting Mayor Foldy requested Ald. Ron Ford to introduce Mr.
Walter Koehn, President of the Little Muskego Lake Association. Mr. Koehn
presented to Acting Mayor Foldy an oil painting of old city hall as a gift
to the city from his association in appreciation of the city's cooperation
during their past projects. Acting Mayor Foldy accepted the gift in behalf
of the Aldermen and all of the citizens of Muskego. The picture was painted
by Harold Sanders, a member of the Little Muskego Lake Association and
local well known artist.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Ald. Cole presented the report of the Finance Committee meeting held on
3/7/73, and moved that it be accepted and placed on file. Seconded by
Ald. Dumke, motion carried.
Ald. Ford presented the report of the Public Works Committee meeting held
on 3/g/73, and moved that it be accepted and placed on file. Seconded by
Ald. DeBack, motion carried.
Aid. Ford presented the report of the Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee
held on 3/l/73, and moved that it be accepted and placed on file. Seconded
by Ald. Knudsen, motion carried.
The minutes of the Plan Commission meeting held on 316173 were received
and placed on file.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS - None
COMMUNICAITONS FROM THE MAYOR'S OFFICE
Acting Mayor Foldy advised that there would be a public hearing in the
Council Chambers on Thursday, March 15, 1973, at 7:00 P.M. regarding
the proposed Burning Ordinance.
NEW BUSINESS
Ordinance #249 - The Clerk gave the first reading of same, entitled, An
Ordinance to Rezone Certain Property and to Amend the Zoning Map of the
City of Muskego (Lots 1 $ 2, Chesterhill Subdivision from R3 to B3 - Re:
A h P). Ald. DeBack moved to suspend the rules in order that the second
reading of the ordinance could be had. Seconded by Ald. Knudsen. The
aldermen were in agreement to have the developer, Mr. Cunningham, answer
some of their questions. In answer to a question from Ald. Dumke as to
whether or not he intended to dig a deeper well on the location, Mr.
Cunningham answered, no, because they planned to use an air-cooled
air conditioning unit. He also advised the aldermen that although the
McGrortys are satisfied with the driveway he has agreed to have it moved
farther to the north and that he has met with Dr. Mangiamele and assured
him that the new building would be face brick all the way around. Upon a
roll call vote the motion to suspend the rules carried unanimously. The
Clerk gave the second reading of Ordinance #249. Ald. DeBack moved for
adoption, seconded by Ald. Dumke. Upon a roll call vote the motion to
adopt carried unanimously.

Ordinance #250 - The Clerk gave the first reading of same, entitled,
An Ordinance to Rezone Certain Property and to Amend the Zoning Map
of the City of Muskego (Re: McShane Area) Ald. Knudsen moved to
suspend the rules in order that the ordinance could have its second
reading at this meeting. The motion lost for lack of a second.
VOUCHER APPROVAL - Ald. Cole moved for the approval of payment of
general vouchers in the amount of $186,025.78. Seconded by Ald.
Dumke. Upon a roll call vote the motion to pay the vouchers carried
unanimously. (Payable 3113173)
At 9:45 P.M. Acting Mayor Foldy declared a recess and the meeting
reconvened at 9:50 P.M.
Ald. Cole moved for the approval of payment of vouch in the amount
of $19,456.00 for Gebhardt-Nell (contractor for city garage) subject
to the Finance Committee meeting with Willard Bertram between this
evening and Saturday, March 17, 1973. Seconded by Ald. Knudsen. Upon
a roll call vote the motion carried unanimously.
LICENSE APPROVAL - Ald. Cole moved for the approval of an Operators
License for Ronald Hill. Seconded by Ald. Dumke. Motion carried.
CITY OFFICIAL'S REPORTS - The Clerk gave the Building Report for the
month of February, 1973, indicating nine new dwellings for that month.
Report placed on file.
COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS - In answer to a question from
Ald. Knudsen, City Attorney Buckley reviewed pending legal business of
the city.
ADJOURNMENT - Ald. Knudsen moved to adjourn. Seconded by Ald. DeBack.
Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 9:55 P.M.
