ccm19721106COMMON COUNCIL - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE WHOLE HELD ON NOVEMBER 6, 1972, FOR THE PURPOSE OF DISCUSSING THE 1973 CITY OF MUSKEGO BUDGET The meeting was called to order by Mayor Jerome Gottfried at 8~25 P.M. Also present were Aldermen Cole, Foldy, Knudsen, Dumke, DeBack and Scha~umberg. Ald. Ford was absent. Ald. Foldy moved that the Mayor act as Chairman of the meeting. Seconded by Ald. Cole. Ald. DeBack moved that a unanimous ballot be cast. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. Chairman Gottfried proceeded~ to review the anticipated revenues for 1973 by item line. He then reviewed the anticipated expenditures for 1973 by departments. Discussion regarding the anticipated expenditures for the Library took place and Ald. DeBack moved that the item line budget for the Library under Stationery and Office Supplies be increased from $2,200.00 to $2,800.00 so as to include a photo copier machine with the intent that the City work with the Library in the selection of said machine. Motion seconded by Ald. Foldy. Upon a roll call vote, Aldermen Foldy, Dumke, DeBack and Schaumberg voted "aye". Aldermen Knudsen and Cole voted "nay". The motion carried. After due review of the entire anticipated revenues and expenditures for 1973, Ald. Foldy moved that the Common Council moved to approve said budget for 1973 in the amount of $1,614,227.19, same to be sub- mitted to public hearing for approval on December 4, 1972. Seconded by Ald. Cole, motion carried. The Common Council then reviewed the proposed Capital Budget for 1973. Ald. Knudsen moved to remove four tennis courts in the amount of $20,000.00 from the Park and Recreation Capital Budget. The motion died for lack of a second. Ald. Knudsen moved to take $20,000.00 out of tennis courts from Park and Recreation Capital Budget for 1973 and moved to have same amount placed under Land Acquisition. Seconded by Ald. Dumke. Upon a roll call vote, Aldermen Foldy, Cole and Schaumberg voted "nay". Aldermen DeBack, Knudsen and Dumke voted "aye". In order to break a tie vote Mayor Gottfried voted "nay". The motion did not carry. Upon due review of the proposed Capital Budget for the City of Muskego for 1973, Ald. DeBack moved that the Capital Budget for 1973 in the amount of $999,145.00. be approved. Motion seconded by Ald. Knudsen and carried. Ald. Knudsen moved to adjourn, seconded by Ald. Cole.
