ccm19720413COMMON COUNCIL CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUIES OF ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING HELD APRIL 13, 1972 CITY HALL Mayor Gottfried called the meeting83 order at 7:46 P. M. PRESENT: Mayor Gottfried, Aldermen Foldy, Schaumberg, Burgermeister, Sapp, Narlock, DeBack and Qumke. City Attorney John Buckley and Deputy Clerk June Elger were also present. OATH OF OFFICE - Mayor Gottfried introduced Waukesha County Judge Robert . McGraw. Judge McGraw then administered the Oath of Office to the newly elected Mayor Jerome Gottfried, Assessor Paul DeAngelis, Treasurer Jean A. Sanders and Deputy Treasurer Barbara Sands. Judge McGraw then administered the oath of office to the three newly elected aldermen - Charles Foldy, Ward I, Ronald Ford, Ward III, and Richard Knudsen, Ward V. Alderman Robert Burgermeister, third ward, and Alderman Frank Narlock, fifth ward alderman, then relinquished their chairs to the new aldermen. ELECTION OF COMMON COUNCIL PRESIDENT - On the nominating ballot, Alderman Foldy received four votes, Alderman Sapp received one vote, Alderman Schaumberg received one vote and Alderman Dumke received one vote. On the election ballot, Alderman Foldy received four votes, Ald. Sapp received one vote, Ald. Schaumberg received one vote and Ald. Dumke received one vote. Ald. Foldy accepted the position of President of the Common Council. ELECTION OF COMMON COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE TO PLAN COMMISSION - On the nominating ballot. Alderman Schaumberg received two votes. Ald. Ford received Two votes, Ald. Foldy received one vote, Ald. DeBack received one vote, and Ald. Dumke received one vote. On the first election ballot, Alderman Ford Peceived three votes, Ald. Schaumberg received three votes and Ald. Foldy received one vote. On the second election ballot, Alderman Schaumberg received four votes and Ald. Ford received three votes. Ald. Schaumberg accepted the position of Representative to the Plan Commission APPOINTMENT OF STANDING COMMITTEES - Mayor Gottfried advised that he will appoint the standing committees at the next regular Common Council meeting, which is scheduled for April 25th. RESOLUTION #70-72 - The Deputy Clerk read Resolution #70-72.- Authorizing -0 to Borrow Money Temporarily ($350,000). Ald. Sapp e moved to adopt Resolut.ion #70-72. ~Ald.~~Foldy seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote the motion carried unanimously. CI"o* e xcUir@> Mayor Gottfried welcomed the new aldermen. He advised that a state of the city message will be submittrd next month. It was the unanimous decision of the Council that the nomination and election ballots be destroyed. Following comments from the newly seated aldermen, Alderman Knudsen moved for adjournment at 8:20 P. M. Ald. Ford seconded the motion and the motion carried. Respectfully submitted, June E.
