ccm19700226COMMON COUNCIL - CITY OF MUSREGO MINUTES OF ADJOURNED MEETING OF FEBRUARY 24, 1970, HELD ON FEBRUARY 26, 1970. The meeting was called to order at 8~37 P.M. by Mayor Wieselmann. l PRESENT: Mayor Wieselmann, Aldermen Edmund Budish, Harold DeBack, Fra~nk Narlock, Emmett O'Connell, Lois Sapp and Walter Wollman. Aldo present were City Attorney John P. Buckley and City Clerk Bette Bowyer. l ABSENT: Robert Burgermeister COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE MAYOR'S OFFICE The Clerk read a Proclamation from Mayor Wieselmann declaring March 8, 1970, as 'Muskego Also Remembers" Day. The Proclamation advised that the Muskego Jaycees and Muskego VFW will be having a comedy basketball game on Sunday, March 8, 1970, for the benefit of gifts for disabled Vietnam Vetera,ns. NEW BUSINESS Resolution #16-70 - The Clerk read Resolution $116-70, entitled, Initial Resolution Authorizing $605,000.00 General Obligation Bonds of the City of Muskego. Ald. Narlock moved for the adoption of Resolution 816-70. Seconded by Ald. DeBack. The adoption of Resolution #16-70 would permit a referendum to be placed on the April 7, 1970, ballot which would give the citizenry of the City an opportunity to vote on their approval of the spending of $605,000.00 for the construction of a new City Hall. Mayor Wieselmann and Aldermen DeBack and Narlock spoke as being in favor of the adoption of Resolution #16-70. Ald. Sapp and Ald. Wollman spoke as being opposed to the adoption. As there was a difference of opinion as to the number of votes needed by the Common Council for the passage of the resolution, Alderman Narlock moved to defer action on Resolution #16-70 until the next meeting of the Council (March 10, 1970). Seconded by Ald. Wollman. Upon a voice vote, the motion to defer carried. At 9:05 P.M. Ald. Budish was excused from the meeting and Ald. Burger- meister appeared. Resolution i/43-70 - Resolution Authorizing the Seeking of Invitations to Submit Proposals for Various Ba~nking Services. Mr. Seegar Swanson of Ehlers and Associates, Inc. appeared before the Council to explain the official statement that had been prepared by his firm which revealed the cost estimates and status of all projects proposed for the City of Muskego. The Clerk read Resolution #43-70. Ald. Narlock moved for the adoption of Resolution 1143-70. Seconded by Ald. DeBack. Upon a roll call vote, the motion to adopt Resolution #43-70 carried unanimously. (Date of bid opening to be March 24, 1970, at 3:00 P.M.) COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS The Clerk read a petition of David R. Beierle requesting tha~t a parcel of land in Sec. 16 be rezoned from RS-1 to KS-1 with an OIP Overlay l for the purpose of constructing and operating a four-year Liberal Arts College. Ald. Narlock moved to set the Public Hearing date for March 24, 1970, at a:00 P.M. Seconded by Ald. Wollman. Upon a voice vote, the motion carried. ADJOURNMENT - Ald. Narlock moved to adjourn the meeting.
