ccm19691104COMMON COUNCIL CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING HELD ON NOVEMBER 4, 1969 l The meeting was called to order at 7:42 P.M. by Mayor Wieselmann. PRESENT: Mayor Donald E. Wieselmann, Aldermen Edmund Budish, Robert a Burgermeister, Harold DeBack, Frank Narlock, Emmett O'Connell, Lois Sapp and Walter Wollman. Also present were City Clerk Bette J. Bowyer and City Attorney John P. Buckley. Mayor Wieselmann advised that the purpose of the Special Meeting was to hear the final report of Mr. James T. Barry regarding the possibil- ities of industrial development in the City of Muskego. Mr. Barry spoke at length indicating to the Mayor and Council that following his preliminary report given on September 4, 1969, he had contacted many people on a local, County and State level and many other people who might be interested in industrial development 1 in Muskego. It is now his firm opinion that the City of Muskego would be able to attract and, in fact, handle industrial development. !e Mr. Barry pointed out on a wall map that the most logical location in Muskego to have industry would be west of new Highway "Y", south of Highway "24" , just to the west of the proposed civic center site. The main reasons for his choosing this location is the fact that I this area is served by sanitary sewer, the availability of several hundred acres and of its close proximity to the interchange of the new Rock Freeway. 1 Following discussion as to the cost of development per acre, compar- isons to the sale of land in neighboring municipalities and the 1 potential of industrial land in the Tess Corners area, Mr. Barry concluded his final report on industrial development in Muskego at 8~22 P.M. MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS A discussion took place regarding the proposed Waukesha County Health Code Ordinance. Following the discussion, Alderman Wollman moved to have jurisdiction regarding septic systems and holding tanks remain with the local authorities rather than come under the juris- l diction of Waukesha County. The motion was seconded by Alderman Sapp and upon a voice vote, the motion carried. ADJOURNMENT - Ald. Wollman moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Ald. Sapp, motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 8:20 P.M. ReTFutted, Bette J.
