MINUTES OF MEETING HELD FEBRUARY 11, 1969 l CITY HALL
l Mayor Wieselmann called the meeting to order at 7:32 P.M.

PRESENT: Mayor Donald Wieselmann, Aldermen Robert Burgermeister,
Edmund Budish, Harold DeBack, Frank Narlock and Walter Wollman. Also
present was City Clerk Bette Bowyer and City Attorney John P. Buckley.
e ABSENT: Aldermen Roland Linck and Kenneth Cooley.
MINUTES: Ald. Budish moved to accept the Minutes of the previous
meeting held on January 28, 1969, and moved that the minutes be accepted
and placed on file. Seconded by Ald. Burgermeister. Motion carried.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Finance Committee - Ald. Narlock presented the report of the Finance
Committee meeting held on February 5, 1969, and moved that the report
be accepted and placed on file. Seconded by Ald. DeBack, motion
carried.
@ Public -Works Committee - Ald. DeBack presented the report of the Public
Works Committee meeting held February 6, 1969, and moved that the report
be accepted and placed on file. Seconded by Ald. Wollman. Ald. Burger-
mesiter expressed dissatisfaction with the conditions that the streets
and ditches are left in after the installation of gas main in the Muskego
Shores area. Ald. Budish indicated that unless these conditions are
rectified in the spring, the Public Works Committee will issue no
further permits until conditions are satisfactorily restored.
Public Safety Committee - Aid. Burgenneister presented the report of
the Public Safety Committee meeting held February 5, 1969, and moved
that the report be accepted and placed on file. Seconded by Ald.
Wollman, motion carried.
Public Welfare Committee - Ald. Burgermeister presented the report of
the Public Welfare Committee meeting held on February 5, 1969, and
moved that the report be accepted and placed on file. Seconded by Ald.
Wollman, motion carried. l Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee - Ald. Narlock presented the report
of the Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee meeting held on February 6,
1969, and moved that the report be accepted and placed on file. Second-
ed by Ald. Burgermeister, motion carried.
Plan Commission - The report of the Plan Commission meeting held on
February 4, 1969, was received and will be placed on file.

Resolution $112-69 - The Clerk read Resolution $112-69, entitled, Authoriz-
e ing the Public Works Committee To Advertise for Bids for a New Tractor
and Mower for the Highway Department. Ald. Budish moved for the adoption
of Resolution $112-69, seconded by Ald. DeBack. Upon a roll call vote,
the motion to adopt Resolution 812-69 carried.

Resolution 813-69 - The Clerk read Resolution 1113-69, entitled, Appoint-
ment of Election Officials. Ald. Narlock moved for the adoption of
Resolution 813-69, seconded by Aid. Burgenneister. Upon a voice vote,
a
motion to adopt Resolution 813-69 carried.
Resolution j/14-69 - The Clerk read Resolution $114-69, entitled, Authoriz-
ing the Engineering Study for Removal of Muck and Sedimentation from Big
&-e Muskego La,ke. Ald. Wollman moved for the adoption of Resolution #14-69,
seconded by Ald. Budish. The Clerk read a communication directed to
the Mayor and Common Council signed by citizens affiliated with OPERATION
COMEBACK indicating their endorsement of the proposal of Casey Kendzi-
orski for immediate commencement of engineering studies for the dredging
of Big Muskego Lake. Mr. Roy Hendricks, representing OPERATION COMEBACK,
then gave a brief resume of their organization and its hopes for Big
Muskego Lake. He then presented the Mayor with a check in the amount
of $2,000.00 to cover the first phase of the engineering studies that
will be conducted. Upon a roll call vote, the motion to adopt Resolution
#14-69 carried unanimously.
Resolution #15-69 - The Clerk read Resolution i/15-69, entitled, Au"thoriz-,
ing the Preparation of Banner Honoring Miss Christine Flasch, Wisconsin's
Junior Miss. Ald. Burgermeister moved for the adoption of Resolution
#15-69, seconded by Ald. DeBack. Mr. Roger Murray, representing the
Muskego Jr. Chamber of Commerce, suggested that the banner be placed
in the middle of the City and requested that it be up until the nationa~l
finals are over. Upon a roll call vote, the motion to adopt Resolution
815-69 carried unanimously.
LICENSE APPROVAL - Ald. Narlock moved for the approval of an Operator's
License for Julius Caesar. Seconded by Ald. Budish. Upon a voice vote,
motion ca~rried.
VOUCHER APPROVAL - None
CITY OFFICIAL'S REPORTS
The Clerk read the Financial Report as of January 31, 1969, in the
amount of $629,893.29. Same to be placed on file.
The Clerk read the Building Report for January, 1969. Same to be placed
l on file.
COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS
Discussion took place regarding a proposed display board for the City
Hall that would be constructed by Mr. Howard Fischer, the only expense
to the City would be the cost of materials. Mayor Wieselmann requested
that the Aldermen consider the proposal between this meeting and the next.
Ald. Narlock moved to set the Public Hearing date for February 24, 1969,
7:30 P.M. in the All-Purpose room of the High School for Assessment Dist.
4+j #4 (Highway "Y") sewers. Seconded by Ald. Budish. Upon a voice vote,
motion carried.
Mayor Wieselmann presented Mr. Hendricks with a receipt for the $2,000.00
that had been presented to him earlier in the meeting. He commended the
members of OPERATION COMEBACK for their generosity.

The Clerk read a communication from the City Plan Commission directed
to Mayor Wieselmann requesting an extension of time before making their
l recommendation on the Bryan Ardis Frame rezoning.
Mayor Wieselmann announced the formation of a new Civic Center
a
Committee composed of City Clerk Bette J. Bowyer, Mr. Roger Murray,
Mr. Gerald Mattke, Mrs. Mary Hittman and Mr. Don Miles. The first
meeting of the new Committee will be held on Wednesday evening, Feb-
ruary 12, 1969, at 6:45 P.M.
ADJOURNMENT - Aid. DeBack moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by
Ald. Wollman, motion carried. The meeting adjourned at S:20 P.M.
