CITY OF MUSKEGO
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JUNE 27, 1967
l Mayor Gottfried called the meeting to order at 7~37 PM.
PRESENT: Mayor Gottfried, Aldermen Edmund Budish, Sivier Joost, Jr.,
S. Robert Lentini, Roland Linck, Donald Wieselmann and Walter Wollman.
Also present were City Clerk Bette Bowyer and Attorney R. S. Hippen-
&neyer.
MINUTES: Alderman Joost moved to accept the minutes of the meeting of
June 13, 1967. Alderman Lentini seconded the motion. Alderman Wiesel-
mann amended the minutes to include under communications: A communica-
tion dated June 12, 1967, directed to the Connnon Council and City Clerk
Bette Bowyer from City Assessor Arthur Wieselmann regarding City Assessor's
salary-under Ordinance #55; and a communication dated June 13, 1967, dir-
ected to the Mayor and Common Council from City Clerk-Comptroller Bette
Bowyer regarding the City Assessor's salary, Ordinance #54, as amended and
Ordinance l/55. The motion carried unanimously to accept the minutes as
amended.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Finance Committee; Alderman Linck presented the report of the Finance
Committee meeting held June 21, 1967, and moved that the report be accep-
ted and placed on file. Seconded by Alderman Joost, motion carried.
Public Works Committee; Alderman Wieselmann presented the report of the
Public Works Committee meeting held June 22, 1967, and moved that the re-
port be accepted and placed on file. Seconded by Alderman Budish, motion
carried.
Public Safety Committee; no report.
Public Welfare Committee; Alderman Budish presented the report of the
Public Welfare Committee meeting of June 21, 1967, and moved that the re-
port be accepted and placed on file. Alderman Lentini seconded the motion
and the mation carried.

Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee; Alderman Joost presented the report
of the meeting of the Rules, Laws and Ordinance Committee held on June 22,
1967, and moved that the report be accepted and placed on file. Seconded
by Alderman Wollman, motion carried.
Plan Commission; no report
Mayor Gottfried called for recess at 7~55 PM. The meeting reconvened
at 8:05 PM.
COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE MAYOR'S OFFICE:
Mayor Gottfried advised that the School Board has expressed dissatis-

action and concern about payment for the force main for the sewer and
that the Sewer Committee will meet with the School Board to explain the
assessment within the next two weeks.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
RDINANCE #65; Milwaukee Metropolitan Uniform Building Code, Alderman
ollman moved to defer action until July 11, 1967 on Ordinance $165 pend-
ing recommendation from the City Plan Commission. Alderman Joost seconded
the motion and the motion carried.

RESOLUTION #64-67; Approval of Agreement with the Milwaukee Company
for the Preparation of a Financing Program. Upon the advice of City
Attorney Hippenmeyer Alderman Wieselmann amended Resolution 864-67 to
include this additional paragraph "Therefore be it resolved that "out
l of pocket expenses" as indicated in the contract between the Milwaukee
Company and the City of Muskego not to exceed $200.00". Alderman Woll-
man seconded the motion and the motion carried. Upon a roll call vote,
Resolution l/64-67 as amended was unanimously adopted.

NEW BUSINESS:
RESOLUTION 7176-67; Authorizing the Wisconsin Natural Gas Company to
Install Main. The Clerk read Resolution $176-67, Alderman Budish moved
for the adoption of Resolution #76-67, Alderman Wieselmann seconded the
motion and the motion carried.
RESOLUTION #77-67; Authorizing the City Attorney to draft an Ordinance
for the .Full Time Position of City Engineer. The Clerk read Resolution
f/77-67, Alderman Wieselmann moved for the adoption of Resolution j/77-67.
Alderman Wollman seconded the motion and the motion carried.
RESOLUTION #78-67; Salary of City Assessor. Alderman Lentini moved to
suspend the rules of procedures of the Council for consideration of Re-
a solution j/78-67, said motion seconded by Alderman Linck and upon roll
call vote, motion carried unanimously.
Alderman Lentini presented Resolution i/78-67, Salary of City As-
sessor and following discussion of text the chair declared a recess so
that a re-draft might be prepared by the City Attorney for Council con-
sideration, Recess was declared at 8:28 PM, with meeting reconvening
at 8:33 PM,
Alderman Lentini read Resolution #78-67, Salary of City Assessor,
which was as follows: "Be it Resolved that the City Assessor be paid
his full salary for the month of May, 1967", motion seconded by Alder-
man Linck. Alderman Wieselmann moved to amend the resolution by adding,
"Be it Further Resolved that all City Officials be Paid According to the
Ordinances". There being no second to the amendment, the motion died.
Alderman Joost moved to defer auction on Resolution $178-67 until the meet-
ing of July 11th. This motion lost for lack of a second. Upon roll call
vote, Aldermen Budish, Lentini, Linck Wieselmann and Wollman Voted "aye"
and Alderman Joost voted "no" and the motion to adopt Resolution i/78-67
carried.
a LICENSE APPROVAL:
Alderman Budish moved that an Operator's License be granted to Charles
Grant. Alderman Linck seconded the mot.'_cn and the motion carried.
Alderman Budish moved that a Class "B" Fermented Malt Beverage and In-
toxicating Liquor License be granted to Paul R. Mattingly subject to
completion of advertising. Alderman Linck seconded the motion and the
motion carried.
CITY OFFICIAL'S REPORT: none
COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS:
The Clerk read a communication dated June 22, 1967 from Catherine and
Reinhold Mittelstaedt, requesting lot status determination of Lot 3,
Posbrig's Plat, same referred to Plan Commission.
e The Clerk presented a Certificate indicating that the City of Muskego
has been qualified to receive Federal Assistance andSupport in achiev-
ing community improvement objectives for the prevention of slums and
blight.

Alderman Budish expressed concern as to the School Board's reference to
a break-down in communications between the City and themselves, advising
that invitations had been sent to the School Board to attend meetings of
the Sewer Committee and Public Works Committee. He also advised that
a the Slope Easement for Woods Road had been sent to the School Board May
1st and as yet there has been no reply.
Alderman Joost advised that seven (7) applications had been received

from residents interested in filling the unexpired term for the vacant
Aldennanic position, Ward 85, that the names and biographies of the
candidates will be submitted to the Alderman, election to be held at the
July 11th Council Meeting.
ADJOURNMENT:
Alderman Linck moved for adjournment, Alderman Joost seconded the motion
and the meeting was adjourned at 8:45 PM.
